Have u even played it, i have more then one save that is over 600 days long without any gamebreaking bugs

Its the mounted units plus the large lower tier bandit bands, that make it tough for the ai not to get large mounted armies, that are good at steamrolling

Well thats a good point, i will agree with you on that they shoudent be able to reinforce as they are doing in this version

Do as Stannis and use cav, it worked for him :)

Why?

renown is the best way if u arent a lord or nobel, a easy and quick way to get high renown is to go just north of Winterfell and fight wildlings, even better is to fight two or three bands at a time. even if they outnummber u by one to ten it is still a easy win as they have extremly bad gear

If u have a very large group u will get a pretty hefty morale debuff.
