Salutations, to anyone who's actually taking the time to read this! Please, make yourself at home and browse through all the crap I've made. Surely, you'll find something that tickles your fancy (<- not an innuendo). I’ll continue creating mods whenever I can manage to find some free time.
Freelancer has to be one of the greatest space games that I've ever played. It has action, adventure, an amazing story, and loads of awesome ships to fly! The game itself is great, but with the incredible mods that its community has made, this game will live on for quite a while. Out of all the games I've played, this one has some of the greatest mod support I've ever seen. Truly a masterpiece.
I'd just like to start this off by saying that, this is meant to be constructive criticism. I'm not trying to be an ******* :). When I first started playing this, I had high hopes for it, due to its positive reviews. I, honestly, don't understand where that feedback came from. The combat became more infuriating the farther I progressed, there were FAR too many missiles, and by the time I realized that I needed to constantly have my cm dropper switched on to have even the slightest chance of survival, I was dead. I ended up getting so frustrated by it all, that I didn't even finish the story. I don't mean for this to sound rude, but do you realize that the player is supposed to live? Oh, and don't even get me started on the voice acting.
Pros: Blowing **** up & piloting the Anubis
Cons: Absurd number of missiles/mines, cringy voice acting,
repetitive & aggravating gameplay,
lack of loadout/ship customization, poor level design
Chrome Specforce is the prequel to Chrome (ironically there wasn't much chrome to be seen). This review was going to be much longer, but it was over the 2,000 character limit. So, in that case, I'll condense it.
Pros: decent voice acting (excluding the protagonist) & fair level design
Cons: absurd number of enemies, useless “power armour”, an incredibly small inventory, & ordinary guns
So with all things considered, Specforce gets a solid 6/10, in my opinion. It had a unique story, average level design, and decent voice acting. However, everything else tended to take it down a few notches. All in all, it was fairly entertaining to play.
Plain and simple. It was, and still is, the best damn game in the series. None of the others even come close to matching it.
