Pretty cool looking maps, but very confusing layout. The player is not guided like how some good mappers do.

My real problem with it is that the creator hardcoded the mouse wheel the wrong way around! Quakespasm, like every other program, defaults to left being up, but this pak inverts it and overrules any .cfg file you have. I had to open it up and remove the lines in quake.rc to fix it.

Surprisingly good, the models and animations are well made, and they sound great. Really very impressed that they were made in mdl format and are compatible with Winquake, that blows my mind.

Another retexture project that tries to fix something that isn't broken. This one does a poor job at that.

As far as a remaster of the game goes it's not bad, lighting effects can be much at times, but everything has a lot of polish to it. Wouldn't call it the definitive way to play Quake by any means.

Words cannot describe how impressed I am with this mod, and how surprised that this even runs on a quake-derivative engine at all. Really great work. An experience that rivals Doom itself. Needs more polish though.

Remove any charm of the original game, take crispy high res textures and artificial normal maps, slap them all over the low detail brushwork of 1996, with high poly models with eye-searing lighting effects and put it all in the darkplaces engine, let it cook for 9 years and you are left with a visually conflicting mess that is a pain on the eyes.

Fantastic; wonderful gameplay. Love the tweaks to the shotgun and the hud. The maps are intricate while still retaining the charm of the original game, well done.

Removes all the charm of the game and replaces it with crispy, synthetic looking textures.
