STALKER Lost Alpha is good. Pretty good, actually.
The gameplay is very solid, the graphics are good, the new content is good. But there are things that annoy the hell of me.
1) Crash to Desktop/Bugland The Game: Lost Alpha is FILLED with bugs. Some just crash your game to desktop while others can ruin missions and even main quests. And what's ever most annoying, sometimes it just crash for no good reason. The error log shows nothing, asking yourself what the hell just happened. Atleast they're gonna release a patch which fix all of this.
2) Some voice acting is awful. Like,REALLY, awful. Listening to Doc trying to explain you something is a constant facepalm. I hope something can be done about this.
3) The AI is braindead. For example, entering in the X18 is shameful: rats don't attack you or get stuck in the walls, bloodsuckers and zombies ignore you... the same happens with the human NPCs. You can kill 5 bandits and one of them will be sleeping like nothing happened. And some characters don't even react to enemies: I've seen an stalker wearing an exoeskeleton gettin killed by rats and he didn't even care.
4)Some maps are empty. Darkscape has absolutely no life except for the zombies and a couple of soldiers you don't even notice. Rostok is mainly empty (well,to its credit there are a few dogs, cats and boars here and there, and some NPCs that are needed for a quest). Sometimes it just feel lifeless.
5) Run Simulator. "Stalker,you have to find a document\"
>Goes to X18 and get the papers
>Goes from Dark Valley to Darkscape only to discover you need more documents.
>Goes to Dark Valley,Garbage,Rostoy,X10 to get the documents.
>Makes the same path again.
tl;dr: You spent more time running than doing the mission.
Everything else is great. But the bad stuff really takes some of the atmosphere. Hope it gets fixed soon.
