Are you sure its the mac? The problem you are describing is the asme as when you install the mod on a non english version of the game. I replaced the localization files to english and it works fine for me.
I had an idea for Hive frigates before. And based on stuff like the blood swarm i THINK you could pull it off. Give each frigate a launch bay and have it automaticly spawn a single scquadron of swarmer drones that work like regular fighers. If the squadron gets destroyed the frigate spawns a new one after a few seconds. If the frigate is destroyed the swarmers self destruct (in much the same way as the Vaygr nav beacon). I can definatly se them as valuable support ships, constantly giving the enemy free cannon fodder to shoot at.

id say its mostly fine. The fighter dont realy need many colors due to the trails (maybe paint the weapons "module" like the original HW1 Advanced swarmers had orange gun mounts) As for the larger ships, stripes and patches here and there seem fine to me. imo they should remain mostly white.
Well if not for the raiders maybe put something like that in a map as a derelict you can capture?
playing cataclysm recently i had an idea for a raiders ship (something you might build very late in the game). A Siege Cannon, not like the Sometaw modified 1 but more like the derelict you find it on in the campain. Basicly a huge gun with an engine built around it. Kind of slow, fragile artylery ship for taking out motherships and other large tagets that would have problems dodging the slow projectile.
This means no more raiders? Aww hell, i like those :(
I asked about that too. molou said its far too much work to do properly, and im inclined to agree. Think about it, hed have to make an infected version of every single ship. Not to mention get the entire infection thing to work properly. Hell the original Beast was kind of half assed as evident by the campain as it couldnt infect ships it dint have in its unit roster, like Taidan Fighters, frigates and destroyers.
Kind of ironic. In Homeworld and Cataclysm the Raiders were just support for the Imperials now its the other way around :P
So what kind of ships are we talking about? Cap ships and frigates or will there be a carrier avaliable aswell ?(for a hefty price)
Any plans on making a Taiidan race? You could devide them into Imperialist and Republic factions (chosen like the Vaygr shoose Invasion and Raider doctrine). Iperialists would be Offense oriented with their ship design more or less the same as during the homeworld/cataclysm era with alot of frontal firepower (very much like this ship) while the republicans would have ships that maintain some of the asthetics but are more similar to hiigaran designs in that they have less raw firepower but better armor and weapon coverage (more defensive) maybe make extensive use of various defense platforms (the Nomad Moon comes to mind)
A Captain Morgan mini campain! Hes a pirate he can run into keeprs, Vaygr, even fly into the kadeshi nebula to, for example, try and evade pursuit!
KW2 caps can only be used to limit the number of ships of a certain type. this system limites the number of keeper ships iun general AND links the cap to the number of generators avaliable
Great mod though im not sure about the speed Cap ships and frigates are capable of reaching now. It seems that fighters and corvettes lost their main advantage now that they have truble catching up to a mothership.
Can they fight as a Phalanx? If so i am so getting this mod!

Would be cool if meele units locked in close comkbad ala Dawn of War.Tho i imagine that would take agreat deal of work with the animation so im not realy expecting to see it in EaW. But still the proper code is in there (Obi Wan vs Vader)
The model is nice and all but when will you fix the textures? the entire ship should be like those dark spots.
1 last question that has been looping around my mind for a while: Is there ANY chance for the infection beig more than just taking over the ship( as in change the ship in to its infected counterpart for example Higaran Destroyer -> Hive Ship)? or is that beyond the engines modabilaty?
from what i read they will integrate the Beast evolution mod (an early version of which is downloadable from this site). so yeah the beast is definatly making a comeback.
in the movies we see the gondor soldiers use the exact same equipment. I think that the only randomisation they should do is the face under the helmet.

I dunno if the game would support something like this but maybe put an independant supergate somewere on some of the maps and make it spawn Ori warships after a while (perhaps have the frequency increase over time), and make them attack all the players.

Well Nexus already has a superpowerfull Always visible shield system. The Fortress shield. We know that (under full power) Atlantis could expand the shield over a very large area (it protected a large portion of a planet from a solar flare). So i dont thik its too far fetched to make it expand a little further than normal to protect allied ships. Also fort shields could be overpowere bu EM torpedos (i think those were the ones, its been a while since i actualy played Nexus). Perhaps give most weapons that capabilatie and a variable inpact they would have on it.
a question about the plot. How dose the Beast return? Is it a small pocket that survived the 1st war and hid somewere or is it a resault of a failed hyperspace experiment (Maybe the Vaygr or Tidan tampering with 1 of the Hyperspace gates that were uncovered when the Eye of Aran was reactivated?)
If you can actualy make the beast infec instead of just boarding then im gonna......*faints*
