Will there be a Rafale variant launching the ASMP (or ASN4G) nuclear cruise missile?
Will there be a Rafale variant launching the ASMP (or ASN4G) nuclear cruise missile?
Interesting...
Although wouldn't Mirage IV be a better strategic bomber in that regard, considering it was retired as a bomber far later than Vulcan or any other V-bomber for that regard (Vulcan got retired in mid 80's as a bomber, Mirage IV served into mid-90's in that role)?
But to be fair, there aren't many options for strategic bombers here in Europe as the bomber role was taken over by fighter aircraft anyway. There are more than a few european fighter models serving as cruise missile platforms (including nuclear cruise missiles... thank French pre-first-strike doctrine for that)...
Damn... it still seems weird to see Typhoon (the IRL soviet Akula that the Typhoon art quite closely emulates) to be the anti-ship submarine for Soviets.
That's a Sabra/M-60T, isn't it?
why not EDF or EUDF? European Defence Force?
Great :)
Will we see some national flavour, though?
Especially considering the equipment that various EU member states use? For example, even though many member states use Leopard 2 tanks, France has their Leclercs, Italians have Ariete, and some newer member states have a mix of various more or less modernised T-72/M-84 tank variants such as T-72M4CZ or PT-91 (and even for Leos, there are various variants in use, be it 2A7 for Germans or 2A4 for Poles)
By any chance, is there a way to contact people from Petroglypg directly because of this issue?
To be honest, Booster Terrik does a damn good impression of Thrawn when he tries... :D
Also, kudos for the voice acting of Yuuzhan Vong... they sound really alien...
And by the way, send this to Eckharts Ladder on Youtube... he is a big EAW fan and this might be the perfect cooperation...
"...we announced post-Vong content would be coming as well, including the Corellian-led Second Galactic Civil War."
YES!!!
On that note, I am curious how you handle the Turbulent-class Star Destroyer... It had no official visual media to depict it and I hoped someone like Fractalsponge would tackle the design, but it didn't go through, and then the "sequel reboot" happened...
I always imagined it like a bit more streamlined, smaller version of ISD. Mostly the same shape for bridge(minus those exposed shield bulges) and very similar shape for the hull, just a bit smaller overall, with the bridge sitting closer to the rest of the superstructure...
That is awfully similar to a Banu Defender from Star Citizen... in a good way, of coures, but the sillhouete is very, very similar...
Do I see really heavily modified T-54 or T-55 tank? (oh, forgive me, the Type-59?) The chassis looks that way :D
I wonder, will there be a modernised Imperial I? (basically an Imperial I class with Imperial II command tower)
so you went with the 8km? :(
OI, CHAP! GREATZ WORK IN ZE NAME O' MORK AND GORK! THERE KANZ BE TOO MUCH DAKKA! EVRY MEKBOY KNOWZ THAT!
Darth_Raius The term "unnecessary firepower" is HERESY! In the name of God-Emperor of Mankind report to your fellow comissar or inquisitor immediately to be granted His holy justice!
It is quite funny, now that I think of it, how Imperium of Man (and Adeptus Mechanicus) shares similarities with Yuuzhan Vong on the amount of things they label as heresy, as well as how rigidly and strictly they follow their belief. Of course, they would never agree on the matter of what actually is heretical (and the argument between Mechanicum's savants and Yuuzhan Vong priests and shapers would have been especially amusing to watch :P )
I actually disagree about Venator not having it's place (Daala used one in the Maw Irregular Fleet during the Second GCW in 40ABY!, and durting the Yuuzhan Vong War the Empire had to throw basically anything available against the Vong after they attacked imperial worlds) but those ships would have to be really, really rare (or really, really heavily modified)
well, doesn't SW "laser" fire plasma bolts (ionised gas particles), instead of lasers? :)
or maybe an uparmored version? :)
aplique armor, reactive armor blocks or something like that? :)
may I ask, is there going to be Tector-class Star Destroyer? Tough, hangarless, better armored ISD ;)
Still, I recall reading about turbolasers as firing a superheated cloud of plasma, or "solid state beam", or bolt... noone mentioned rays AFAIK
the most realistic approach to overlord tank
I suppose he doesn't know Czech, and even then, all this one-sided rivalry between Nomada and authors of Yuzhaan Vong at War is kind of low, especially from Nomada... (YVaW started about a year ago, thanks to you, basically from scratch and now is trying to push the limits, while FoC Alliance is there for a long time... the community would benefit if both groups were to cooperate, yet that's not going to happen anytime soon, because someone might be butthurt just now)
"Soviet support of the Polish resistance and relieving the exhausted fighters of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944"
guys, I know it is ment to be an alternative universe, but AFAIK you based it on the aftermath of real WW2, and IRL, there was no such thing in WW2 as Soviet help to non-comunist Polish Resistance during Warsaw Uprising, up to the point that Red Army stopped on the outskirts of Warsaw, which allowed Germans to destroy the Resistance... (just nitpicking from a historical standpoint...)
(aside from the last few lines about WarPac, the whole article feels like "bashing evil western imperialists" and making USSR the saviour of mankind... although there are not many games that change the stereotypes of "good west" and "bad east", switching it other way around is no less simplifying...
or maybe I overlooked the part where it might say that this article is written from ingame "soviet perspective" ;) )
Other than this personal issue, good work :)
I wish you good luck to create the game ;)
the refit might have been too problematic or costly for Remnant... remember, they are no longer galaxy-spanning Empire, but much smaller state, with exponentially lower resources... most of their fleet are leftovers of the time when they were mayor power...
think of them as Russia just after the fall of Soviet Union... they were basically torn to pieces, their economy in a major financial crisis...
