Shields to tower guards !!!! :D
Thanks for your fast reply . First I would like to point out that "easy things" was actually a compliment for your great work , I have tried modding the game myself and I know it is time spenting . Secondly , I gave blitzkrieg as an example not only by the extremely big command trees but that each company SPECIALIZES in its name . For example , when I select air superiority I would like to use air as my primary force , not as a secondary weapon . My point ? I don't really care for the number of the abilities as long as the existing abilities do what they should and they are not just a small part of the game . Thirdly , by unit variety I was a little off my point . I don't really care if you have one type of unit , as long as the player can really use it with a variety of ways . Finally I understand that this mod requires a huge investement of time , as you pointed out . I understand it and I will not critisize you in any way . Thanks for replying
I am following this mod since it started and I must say that I am very excited about this . In fact I thought you would be "dead" a month or two after your beginning but you proved me wrong . The animations are indeed a masterpiece but I couldn't help noticing throughout your monthly updates that this mod is a complete overhaul that aims to bring the game into a new level while maintaining the basic , core features of coh and not expanding them . To make myself clear , I don't see a vast variety of units to choose from , neither more abilities that Blitzkrieg and other mods have . You are making a HUGE work there and you are missing some easy(for you) things that could make the mod twice as good . For example , the Air doctrine could be more than : 1) infantry landing 2) Bombing Run 3) Supplies like in normal coh . It could have up to 20 abilities that would totaly change how you play the game . Just a suggestion . Keep up the good work
Damn if they gave you a copy of Skyrim now with a pack of editor tools and managed to finish the mod and release it the day Skyrim would be released , I would choose this 100%
You know since my first Peloponnesian war lesson in school , when I was 6-8 years old ... I always wondered how strange this war was ... It is about someone taking advantage of their allies but another powerful someone comes up and says NO , just like a hero would , but his goal was that the other couldn't achieve total domination , so he could take advantage of the others . So Greece splits up in two and war breaks loose.
I hate when we Greeks make civil wars for no reason just because two rivals get so stupidly mad ...
According to that however , I believe you will follow the historical flow and make the Spartan infantry far superior to the Athenian (vice versa for the navy however) so to balance the situation right ?
Dorian , I know that Spartans would never use walls as a defensive measure to their home city . My point was not to have the walls completely as a random map prop as it would be a shame of your work . Spartans don't have to be able to use them but for Athenians is a must (should have mentioned that before to avoid the misunderstanding) , considering how vastly they used them through out every war (eg Pelloponisian Wars)
For God's sake guys you just did what EA should have done years ago and you make it a random prop ? Make it expensive , difficult to construct at least but the people would love walkable walls ... Every decent ancient RTS gamer wishes for a game having these walls !!!
Just saying that for the sake of historical accurancy :p
The greek letter lamda (Λ) is the english (L) , not (S) --in greek (Σ)-- .
In ancient Greece the Spartans were called Lakedemonioi (Λακεδεμόνιοι) . This is the reason the Spartans painted this letter on their shields
