The adjustments for both soviets and Ostheer were made to streamline the factions to make them less overwhelming. Less units, easier and less complicated teching, and clear unit types according to the roles they have.
For example, Panzerfusiliers are gone from regular teching, but they're still a call in infantry unit. The role of MG 34 and Panzerjägers is shifted onto Landser squads.
Mortar is an upgrade for the sdkfz 251 Halftrack.
It's like that in EF 2.300 - only newly built At guns are ZiS 2.
It still sucks tbh... Coh isn't fit for a "real" combat system anyways.
No thx, Blitzkrieg has a completely different gameplay, and I personally wouldn't want to see EF moving in the same direction at all. plus it would require redoing around 200 weapon files just to fit the pseudo realism combat system from BK.
Very epic, just played soem games as Undead. Feels just like wc3, good job on tat one! :)
We simply make the Soviets/Ostheer OP against them so noboday plays them. Gg.
It's simple, because our community manager doesn't post as much as he used to in the past.
And I am more of a tinker than a writer, so I let others do the stuff regarding publicity.
No, as stated numerous times it's in closed beta and we're preparing a launch on steam.
Closed beta, and will be released in the near future after most bugs are fixed and the translations are up to date.
We'll updage the translations in the future.
In 2.300 it's a call in for Army Support doctrine. It's been removed in the Steam beta though.
The current tier system is a merge of t1 and t2. If you play offensive pool you get Ostheer t1 and if you play support you get t2. So, it's pretty much as viable as it used to be before.
T3 wasn't changed all that much. Main difference is that Panzer IV and Pak40 are pool units now.
First regarding the IS-2: The IS-2 isn't really "low poly" but rather "low detail". It's a very old model and was intended to be replaced. Idk how far our 3d artists are with the model though, so I don't know if it'll be in the steam release or not.
About US reward units: The point of reward units is to offer different gameplay with a unit that serves the same role (like StuG IV - Gwagen or Comet - Firefly).
I doubt that it's a good idea to make the M10 throwaway tank a possible replacement for the M10 which also is a throwaway tank. But I'll see what I can do about it. The M36 certainly is a cool tank.
No. It's technically possible but too hard to implement.
SU ambulance only works in friendly territory or base sector at a pretty low rate. Ostheer heals _everywhere_ on the map and needs to invest 30 ammo, which is equal to !one! Wehrmacht medikit. So, where is the problem?
Actually, we had plans to add teamcolors.
Army Fortress allows to passively heal in allied sectors. But apart from that is no extra heal. However, Ostheer healing with supply drops is solid and we had no problems with it in the beta so far.
Because having a mobile reinforcement + healing station is lame to play against. And to just park it in the base is unnecessary. The supply drop serves a similar purpose and is way more unique and fits the Ostheer better.
yes. in 2.300 it should be medic veterancy that allows to heal troops iirc.
This only happens to me if I play in window mode and move the game window around at some point.
No. The damage system is inspired from vCoH, not from the ****** up semi realistic Blitzshit mod.
Medikit supply drop ability.
I personally have no problems with EF steam, I only had problems with starting regular EF and steam EF beta so far. But thanks for your concerns, I guess we should check that out before we release the mod offiically on steam.
I stream from time to time, it depends on my mood actually. It's likely I'll put on a stream every now and then of course.
But I don't stream like... every evening for 2 hours each or so.
Wehrmacht reward doctrine.
no, they are also disabled in the beta at the moment. The trees shown are in no way final and not finished. I'm planning to create the Stadtkampf doc for Wehrmacht and after that Romanians for Ostheer. But idk if they will make it into the steam release.
If you have problems or whatever just use the forum on www.easternfront.org.. It's more likely that you get a fast answer over there. At least at the moment, since our community Manage is not as active at this time than he used to be. And we, the others, do not check Moddb regularely.
learn to play.
Sturmtiger is part of Wehrmacht Urban Combat Doctrine. It's unobtainable by Ostheer.
