SFC1 is an old game that runs in 16-bit colors.
To run it at windowed mode you need to set the game to run in 16-bit compatibility mode.

I've made a lot of work related with the "Star Trek: Starfleet Command" game series (SFC1, SFC2EAW, SFC2OP and SFC3) in the last 2 years.
The works include:

- The sprites.q3 editor;
- The HD patches for all games;
- The model browser with an *.OBJ importer/exporter and a scan&fix; feature;
- A mission map editor that works with all existing scripts;
- Several tools that allows starting any SFC game in any custom resolution, and play\host multiplayer LAN campaigns at home, or over the internet.

These works would not be possible without the collaboration of "Tar" and "NXAdam1701". My thanks to them. :)

One of the best examples of the work we did is exposed in Youtube, where "Tirak" has been producing in a weekly base an excellent series about SFC2OP.

To install the patch you just unzip it into you SFC1 game folder.

If you are running it in Windows 10, in "windowed" mode, and you only see a black screen in your desktop then you must set its compatibility mode to 16-bit color. Take a look into this image for instructions -> I.imgur.com
