To install the patch you just unzip it into you SFC1 game folder.

If you are running it in Windows 10, in "windowed" mode, and you only see a black screen in your desktop then you must set its compatibility mode to 16-bit color. Take a look into this image for instructions -> I.imgur.com

Hey there, I installed and replaced the .exe, sprites, and ini file with yours but its stuck on a black screen with 'Loading...' in the middle and I hear the music running in the background.

I tried messing with the INI files and run in compatibility 16-bit but its just stuck in 'Loading...' and I'm not sure what to do.

Hello, just for the record I managed to get this running at max framerate using this HD patch.

I had to combo it with "dgvoodoo wrapper" to fix the frame rate. Now I'm getting silky smooth 160+ frame rate. While before it was only running at 40

I also had to tweak the "sfc.ini" and turn both Mouse values to "0"

[Mouse]
async=0
hwblit=0

Initally, I got it running with dgvoodoo but the mouse cursor texture was broken with a purple halo around it. Adjusting the mouses config settings fixed this.

So yeah, there you go, the game runs flawlessly with really nice frame rates.

If you want to see a ingame FPS counter, you can enable it in the "sfc.ini" Just change the Fps= value to "1".

(You can also enable a nice looking Grid pattern on the 3D display ingame by changing the "Grid=" value to "1". I'm not sure if there is an ingame option for this, I remember this tick from years ago.)

Anti-aliasing seems to work flawlessly too by adjusting the dgvoodoo settings.
