I've been playing computer games since the days of Hack (the one BEFORE Nethack), and my favorite games are RPG's. Somehow, the exact same gameplay appeals to me more if it's swords against ghouls than if it's blasters against aliens. Even though I love reading science fiction and have read tons of it, for some reason I don't especially like SF games; I much prefer a fantasy setting. I really enjoyed Might & Magic 6 and 7 and Baldur's Gate, and even though I usually prefer PC games, I really liked Dragon Quest VIII. My favorite game, though, is The Witcher. I'm a middle-aged woman, and a lot of games seem somewhat childish to me, whereas the Witcher has enough depth and ambiguity to appeal to a mature gamer. The attention to detail in the game is just staggering, and it was clearly a labor of love, done by those who adored the novels on which it was based. I've made my own adventure for The Witcher, called "Medical Problems," and have already begun working on Chapter Two.

I love most of PvZ, but I hate the bowling (Level 1-5). Can you make a mod that will allow me to skip the bowling?

For those of us who haven't played the game yet, can you say a little more about this mod? What children? Why were the originally removed? Why do we want them?

Thanks, hon! I squeezed in just under the wire, having gotten sick at exactly the wrong time. :-)

This file is a self-extracting 7zip archive. That means that if you double-click on the file after you've downloaded it, it will unpack itself; you don't have to have 7zip on your computer to be able to unzip it. It's not an installer, though; you'll still need to put the adventure file where it goes. (If you need help installing adventure files, see the Installation Instructions.)

Wow! That's quite an achievement. Kudos, congratulations, and felicitations! What a lot of effort you've put into this, and working half in the dark, too.

I've never used The Blender, and I hear that it has a rather steep learning curve, but the idea of having new placeables is rather enticing, so maybe I'll give it a whirl.

Thank you so much for sharing this!

Ooooh! I've wanted something like this and thought of making it; I'm glad to see that I don't have to. Thank you!

Do you have a version without an installer? I don't like to just let installers do their thing; I like to know what I'm adding to my game and where I'm putting it.

Thanks!

"And what's more, we're getting a surprise ready for you."

Really? "The Wedding," "Merry Witchmas" and Flash mod weren't enough? Well, given what you've given the Witcher community already, you deserve to have people panting and drooling with anticipation at whatever the surprise is, so consider yourselves panted and drooled at. :-)

I haven't even finished this adventure yet, but I'm so impressed that I had to stop to tell you what a fabulous job you did.

For anyone who hasn't played yet, STOP READING NOW.

You guys have included so many little changes that make big differences. The sight of a dwarf wearing make-up was just hilarious, yet also somehow adorable. When I saw the Christmas tree in the hospital, I said to myself, "How did they do that," so I went closer. The decorations are actually strings of garlic and pumpkins -- that's fabulous! And crates that have been reduced in size make surprisingly good presents under the tree.

Of course, the big surprise was Diablo, and you guys did a fantastic job with him! Very impressive, I must say, and very nice use of special effects, lots of lovely demon-from-hell atmosphere!. And to whoever wrote the dialogue for that, I greatly enjoyed Geralt's unflappability in responding to Diablo's list of all his scary titles with "Geralt of Rivia, nice to meet you." I laughed out loud (which I also do for delight, not just humor) when I saw Diablo and again at Geralt's answer.

I was also glad to see that you got a girlfriend for poor Kalkstein. He's a very nice man, even if a bit out of it, and the crazy math professor seems like a great match for him. I've always liked Kalkstein, so I'm glad he's got some company, if he wants it.

I didn't pick up the red jewel after I killed Diablo; I'll have to restore from save once I've finished the adventure and see what terrible things happen if Geralt is foolish enough to take it.

Oh, and giving fisstech to a person with ... that name ... was also a great touch; the sort of thing that winks at those of us who've read a lot of SF but doesn't ruin the game for those who haven't.

I'm sure I've forgotten something I enjoyed, since there was so much of it, and as I say, I haven't finished yet, but I wanted to tell you what a great job I thought you all had done before I forgot too much.

Kudos!!

Thanks for posting these!

These aren't actually the ones I'd most like to look at, but I appreciate the effort. Where did you get them, anyway -- did you ask CDPR for them, or is there a stash of .nss files somewhere that I've missed?

Useful and amusing.

I was on a team where the team leader was in (unrequited) love with the problmatic, lazy, and argumentative member, so of course there was no question of firing her. God, what a nightmare!

Do not join a team where there's a lot of sexual tension between two of the members....

Short? It took me around 60 hours to do all of the quests; that seemed pretty long to me.

I've played a zillion RPG's, and this one is the best, ever. The story is great, the combat is gorgeously graceful, player choices have a real impact on the game, and it's a world for mature players, with morally ambiguous situations. I've played it five times and will undoubtedly play it again.
