Half-Life multiplayer mods do not work on "non-steam" versions of either Half-Life or Counter-Strike as the server list is always empty, no matter what mod (talking from personal experience, honestly). You can buy the game on steam tho.

It works. You have to go to the gmod 9 directory, open up gameinfo.txt then set steamappid from 215 to 220, this is an issue found in most mods made in 2006.

There should be a colide and a no-colide option for the toolgun to make barricades for a zombie invasion for example
