Second post in a week, I must be getting into this blog as a brain dump concept.

Have ragdolls killed gibs?

Remember the old days of FPS when you could blow your enemies into meaty chunks? Sure ragdolls are fun, but I miss the meaty gore-fests of oldskool deathmatch. Another mod idea is tempting me, with visions of gore and dismemberment.

Each player model would be composed of attached parts, hits on the points where the parts connect (mainly joints), would cause the extremity parts to detach in a spray of blood. Blast weapons would hit multiple joints giving us multiple ragdoll gibs from a single kill. Just imagine the wobbly fun we could have with a dis-em-bowling shots >:D

Of course the number of parts would increase the effort needed to model the player, so I could just make the one and have various textures for it.

Sort of accompanying this is a weapon concept. KInd of a cross between the Gravity Gun and a Lancer that I call the "Pushmepullyousaurus". Primary file pulls the player toward the target and the target toward the player. Secondary fire pushes the apart. Best of all it has a chainsaw or circular saw component, so once you've pulled a target in you can carve 'em up without having to switch. The pull function also allows it''s use a grappling hook and the push function would enable a kind of boost jump, like the old rocket jumps, but without the boom.

Another weapon concept was a wide-bore revolver, where the chambered round are so large it can only take 3 round at a time. Shotguns shells? flares? RPGs? Who knows? I didn't think that far.

It's so much lighter in here now i've got these dark and bloody diversions out in the open.
