Haha I'm on a much more simpler level than most here, but when I started modding using map editors that come with games, I learned completely by trial and error, clicking this and clicking that. I also figured how what the triggers and codes in starcraft meant, simply by guessing what it does and trying it out. The many maps I made were quite successful and worked, but I never published them since I never felt like it.

Then I started using others like Source and Cryengine etc. and screwed around alot but when I started using the StarCraft 2 map editor it had become much more advanced and complicated I had to read some stuff to know how to use the triggers and what certain things actually even do.

We really don't need that yeah.

The modders create a mod. The team likes the idea. They message the modders, and ask them to use their idea and make it part of the game. The modder's agree/disagree, and if they agree Mojang makes it part of a update, and gives them credit in a "credit's menu"
