I love it, will it have higher stats than the standard land raider (health, speed, dps, etc), have additional upgrades the normal does not, or will it just be a replacement for it? Either way it looks epic! Cool to see the iconic swivel side guns on this bad boy!

Probably did it just for the flame and melta aesthetic GW does for tabletop blood angels, so that they would sell more blood angels. There would be a lot less BA players if they didn't get those heavy flamers in infantry squads tbh. Plus if they wanted to copy the Baal predator they could just use the land raider crusader/redeemer. So yeah more to keep the aesthetic of "We are the only tabletop space marine faction (besides DW) with heavy flamers and inferno pistols in our tactical squads git gud."

It's creation was probably similar to the land raider crusader's where they needed something for a specific mission, then they created it for a specific job creating a super powerful but incredibly rare variant, as the crusader was only really recognized long after its initial use (exception being the crusader wasn't really rare, but fit a niche like the other three also do.

The addition of smoke grenades on the deredeo is kind of useless imo, as you wouldn't want this dreadnought close enough to the fighting where the use of smoke grenades need to be used. This is why in the base game the land raider and the rhino have smoke grenades, because they are supposed to drop off infantry right at the fighting, where smoke grenades would be able to supply cover bonuses. The deredeo is meant to be shooting from far behind your main force or holding a strong point. Autocannons would also appear to be a bit too clunky for a torso weapon, bloating the model. Autocannons are usually good against flyers and medium vehicles. I'm not sure how they are going to be used in this mod, but I assume they would do the same, which is why it's kind of redundant to have yet another anti vehicle weapon in the slot that's supposed to help an anti vehicle dreadnought when a legion tactical squad charges it with meltas, in a position where it can't even fire at flyers, the main reason to get autocannons. This goes back to the question why no anti infantry grenades; missiles still easily out class them. Even at close range, with how missiles work in DoW they can shoot at pretty much any range, and missiles work in DoW like faster grenades but better. Missiles are probably a bit more expensive than a grenade upgrade would be, but you also have to worry about balance. If you add literally every weapon option to this vehicle, there would be no reason to use the baseline contemptor which is supposed to be the jack of all trades infantry support dreadnought, not the deredeo. Also by making a thousand additions to the deredeo, Yatsu would be wasting his time with a unit that's only one out of dozens in an entire faction for days(weeks?). Kind of a rant but I respect Yatsu's quest for balance in his mod and the question was decent. Also the argument can be made for smoke launchers on contemptors as they are supposed to support infantry directly, but then again rhinos and infantry squads could just be given a smoke grenade ability like the deimos predator. Yet again, kind of a rant but I'm a nerd for dawn of war.

Oh emperor not the Easter eggs, they're too awesome! Still can't believe you guys got Alfabusa to voice act a Dark Eldar flyer on top of the stellar work Matthew Vanston and the other VAs, not to mention completely modeling, rigging, animating, and texturing a shard of the void dragon mere months after it was revealed as an official model, truly the dedication this team has is awe inspiring! Can't wait to use a Leman Russ Punisher Tank to finally kill those pesky ork/tyranid hordes once and for all!

Looking forward to this release, was the first major mod I downloaded after getting Dawn of War in 2018! So glad to see how massive it has become (and I thought the old deathwatch and obliterators were awesome before!). Really excited to talk to other enjoyers of the mod on the up and coming discord, can't seem to find anyone online who plays it. Also this is the most active I have ever seen a comment section on moddb ever! This mod is finally getting the attention it deserves!

That's more so a limit to what you can do with DoW because you need all the space you can for unit description. However relic units usually say that a relic needs to be captured to use before you can train it in yellow (if you haven't captured a relic yet), so eventually you can memorize those units that way. A little tedious I know but hey what works works!

Oh no it is just a meme because the chaos warhound has glowing eyes so I thought it'd be funny to make a 40k "real ****?" meme. The plasma gun is actually really awesome! I also like the warhound's chaos fumes from its exhausts. It is just a really cool model overall.

Hey, I think this is gonna be my last question for a while, but since you have added textures to the conversion beamer for mechanicus, will you update the Imperial Knight model for the explorators as well? The current knight is a real glass cannon too, and the new ones appear to have around 18000 (at least from what I've seen from the last Update on them from the Emperor's Children mod) and really nice models. If that isn't on the bucket list right now that's fine, I'm just happy to be getting that beautiful Necron rework with those awesome voice lines!

Hey so I noticed on the last post you said all vanilla races were getting updated, does that include Chaos/Normal Space Marines as well? I know that they are the most modded faction types in the community and your work, so I'd understand why you wouldn't want to update a faction when one can literally just go out and play IF, DA, BT, BA, Sal, SW, 13th, LotD, NL, TS, Rage, EC, even AM work with unification if you work it a bit; so I understand not wanting to do anything crazy with it. However, I was wondering what the additions could be? Are there any primaris units as tier 3/4 units/upgrades like how there are in IF and Sal, (technically there are in EC, but my apothecary always dies/I win before I can get any sadly or I might just be doing it wrong) and will be in the up and coming update for DA and the release of UM(Can't wait for that space battle map that was teased almost 2 years ago now)? Or will they share the relic units like the Imperial Knight and Warhound titan with the IG? Either way I'm very excited that Orks are being updated so now I can finally krump the hummies without getting blasted with enough Horus Heresy relic dakka that would make even a freeboots blush. Good luck once again on your work, and please don't wear yourselves out too much, the Dawn of War community Is very patient after the crapshoot that was DOWIII. Gotta take what you can get, and in this case what you get is fantastic(Better than DOWIII a thousand fold at least)!

Hey, I have been a fan of the unification mod and its various different race mods released over time since late 2018, and I wanted to ask if there was someplace to read about/look into news on the progress of the mod that wasn't moddb(like discord or some sort of forum)? I'm incredibly excited for the next update as I've always preferred Unification's balance and art design over UA's and I wanted to see if there was a place for more avid users/followers of the mod.
