In her corridors was a mutagenic virus that would slaughter the entire race in the past of 2268.) After the bridge was destroyed, Harker found himself as senior officer left alive, in command of the ship and mission. With the help of Captain Kirk, Harker completed his mission and upon returning to 2371, Uhura promoted him to full commander and gave him the Twilight NCC - 74413 (Nova Class refitted.)
