Captain Harker began as a medical officer on a Galaxy Class Starship in 2361. By 2364 Harker was CMO, and impressed SI Director Adm. Uhura by curing a genetic weapon retro-virus which affected Vulcans and Romulans. In 2371, Harker was assigned to the USS Twilight as CMO; the ship followed the Adamant (run by the M-5 computer, programmed by section 31 to annihilate the Cardassian people during the Dominion War. In her corridors was a mutagenic virus that would slaughter the entire race in the past of 2268.) After the bridge was destroyed, Harker found himself as senior officer left alive, in command of the ship and mission. With the help of Captain Kirk, Harker completed his mission and upon returning to 2371, Uhura promoted him to full commander and gave him the Twilight NCC - 74413 (Nova Class refitted.) In the fierce battle of Operation Return to retake Deep Space 9, Harker saved the Defiant by using his ship's malfunctioning warp core as a makeshift photon torpedo, made captain
