Just downloaded FCAM (FarCry Addon Mod) 1.99, never played FarCry before, (the whole farcry series on steam has a special offer now)

While downloading I've played the video FCAM 1.51 and the sound track is amazing, can someone identify the soundtrack for me?

I would like to share some info regarding crashes, after removing all three Samsung Kies' processes from memory before playing Stallker, the rate of crashes has reduced drastically, it's not 100% proof but it helped me a lot.

Well, night vision equipment happened to be my main profession in the army for many years and this mod seemed to be quite accurate about weapons like the spas-12 accepting 12X70 and not 12X76 cartriges, (the 12X76 will fit but you risk to loose your face), so everything technical not Sci-Fi seemed to be right so I contributed a bit from my side especially when the game mentions 1 2 and 3 generation equipments which is accurate and fits in the game lore date wise.

Just keep the good work.

If I may to offer a suggestion for the next version, if it's possible to put an entry in the PDA about the various dealers and their special deals or offer, only in general lines, right now I'm a bit confused about their pricing policies, some artifacts I get better prices from sidrovich and for others at the bar, the same goes with weapons and animal parts, for some reason the I get very low prices for monsters parts at the lab in Yantar, probably because I haven't done any missions for them yet so to establish good relations.

Also I would like to add to my previous rundown on night vision apparatus that the blinding effect caused by daylight or artificial light exists in all generations, it's mostly dealt with some kind of aperture to reduce the light entering the objectives or just by applying rubber covers on the objectives, those covers have tiny holes to avoid the blinding effect and are removed when not needed, it all depends on the maker and the purpose of the apparatus.

I would like to clarify a bit about the night vision goggles from my personal experience. I've compared nightvision_xxxx.ppe files from the vanilla game and some mods, first, all generations 0-1-2-3 are monochromatic, 1,2,3 gen. are based on amplification tubes with varying capabilities, the vanilla nightvision_bad.ppe is a fair representation of 1 gen. devices, the flickering is right, the blurry picture is a little bit like 0 gen. but in all it's a good mimic. The vanilla nightvision_good.ppe is a good mimic of 2 gen. night vision, still with a green picture but more bright and much sharper, both lack the blindness effect caused by a near by light source like a flash light. The only one I found that represents the 3 gen well and also have some blindness effect and a grey level pictures with grainy effect is nightvision_good.ppe from the Complete mod, that one should be the grey in your mod or the good or the elite.

Real world 2 & 3 gen. night vision needs only stars in the sky or grey to white clouds lit from behind by stars to produce a good pictures in places like desert where there are no light sources, but if used in places where people walk around with flash lights, scattered camp fires or a lit window near by then the picture is extremely bright, some times so bright that it's like day time wearing sunglasses.

I hope I have contributed a bit from my experience, the current night vision in this mod the good ones are wrongly modeled, should be all monochrome, not colorful, much brighter in the presence of stars or bright clouds or artificial light sources and with some blindness effect.

Hello,

Since I've lost my only spas-12 at the Agroprom I found a bountiful of spas-12 while doing saving Kruglov from the Wild territory, an endless supply for spas-12 and Saiga-12K amongst other good weapons.

My only problem is with the spas-12 cursur or the on screen reticle, by comparing the stats of of the spas-12 with saiga-12K and saiga-12S one can see that the spas-12 has more damage and more accuracy then saiga-12K and almost the same as saiga-12S and yet it's screen cursor has a huge diameter while the saiga has a very small one, so which one is correct? The stats that say it's as accurate as the saiga or the cursor which denotes a very inaccurate weapon?

I meant that for the same conditions the Exoskeleton MK-1 can see ground details, blurry a bit but useful.

The night are moonless and cloudy but looking up I see the sky brighter then the ground, lit with a light to dark grey.

I understand the duty exoskeleton has it's parameters written somewhere I just thought I could play with it a bit unless it's some dds file.

Hi,

I've found a Duty Exoskeleton which is nice as long as I don't need night vision, at dawn and dusk the night vision is excellent with colors (which I don't really think is physically possible) but at dark nights without moonlight I see nothing, I must use the flash light and outside the light spot visibility is next to nothing, with the old green flickering night vision I could look down while running ans see rocks branches bushes and corps lying around, with the Duty Exoskeleton looking down at dark nights I can't hardly see anything, is it on purpose or do I need some adjustments? of course with moonlight the view is amazing.

About the detectors+dosimeter apparatus, besides Rapture and Burn which are not detected, are there any other anomalities not detected?

I got a variant of it for Fox's quest from Sidrovich and also a regular saiga from the army but I'm an old fashoin guy and an old fashion player, I like shotguns that look like shotguns and "feel" like shotguns:) //===>>=

Hello everybody,
can someone tell me where to find a spas-12 shotgun?

Early on the game somewhere from the beginning to agroprom meeting with Moe I found two spas-12 used one to repair the other and later on at night a bandit or a zombie knocked out the gun from my hands, had to run away (haven't saved for a long time).Came back later and didn't find it where I lost it. I've spent two days at that place (near the underground tunnel entrance) but nothing.

You are right, it works without touching fsgame.ltx.

I read at TweakGuides.com the following:

"To use modified files with STALKER, you will first need to open your fsgame.ltx file found under the \Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl directory.

Open this file with a text editor like Notepad, and find the following line:

$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata

Change the false to true, i.e.:

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata

This will tell STALKER to first load up any game asset files which exist in appropriate subdirectories under \Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl,
before loading them up from the archived .db* files. In other words this allows you to extract files from the archives, modify them, and have STALKER recognize and load them instead of the
original versions.

Tried it and still feeling slightly noshes, in real running or walking the body moves together with the head so what you see is in sync with what you feel, when on a boat inside a cabin you fill movement but your eyes don't see it thus causing you sea sick. The same goes for body not moving but picture is wobbling, again you get sea sick, the only way to stop it when on sea is to sit on deck and let your eye see the movements of the boat relative to water or horizon, this is a short explanation why people feel noshes from sitting still in front of a first person video of wobbling scene, some are more sensitive then others.

I thought of extracting effectors.ltx from the mod placing it in gamedata\config\misc and applying |true| for \config directory in fsgame.ltx, that is very minimal and might not interfere with the proper execution of the mod.

Do you thing it's O.K doing it that way? I tested it in relation to head bobbing and it worked fine with values of 0.0 for amplitudes but I don't know what might happen in the long run, so ?

Thanks, I would like to stop head bobbing because it makes me feel like sea sick, I do a lot of running with your mod, can I do it from the console? I don't want to copy effectors.ltx to game data because I will need to change fsgame.ltx and I don't want to harm the mod.

Problem solved, I used the configurator before installing Argus' pack (if that was the problem) and now everything is o.k

One question please, Argus' pack is actually a lot of textures copied to gamedata\textures, do I need to edit:
$game_data$ = false|true|$fs_root$|gamedata\
to true|true or your mod's texture.ltx has the needed information?

Hi Yuri, I reinstalled from scratch the game then the mod then argus' textures, I have the same problem, the first thing I did was to open the configurator, I selected "enable widescreen scopes" as soon as I click Apply, the line is deselected.

Hi yuri, unfortunately I forgot to select Wide screen scopes, I thought I might select it now and do the above mentioned procedure bur I can't select it in the configurator, as soon as I press apply, the line is deselected again.

Any solution to correct my scopes for wide screen?

Hi Yuri, played a bit with the time parameter set it to 2,4 and 6, no change, the relation from game time to real time is 1:6, is there a file with this information so I can verify that the numbers are changed?

I did it, but it's not enough, when in the train tunnel at the garbage and leaning against the right wall facing outside I can see through the wall. This is just an example, it happens in many places.

I tried to raise the value above 1.0 because I found it in the user guide for Complete mod. It says:

"To fix the glitches, open user.ltx and change the following entry:
r2_sun_near_border 1
Slowly increase the value from 1 to 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc until the glitches are gone."

Maybe with their mode it's possible, but I know now that the game permits values up to 1.0 so I have to sattle with the glitches.

Hello, I've a problem with glitches near the screen borders, my screen has a 16:10 ratio, checking the in the configurator : "Fix bug with angular shadows" is not enough, I checked the user.ltx and the configurator changes r2_sun_near_border from 0.75 to 1, if I change it manually to 1.1 or higher, launching the game from the configurator or directly resets the value to 0.66.

How can I change it permanently? Does the configurator have a table I can tweak?

Hi Yuri, I've just finished "get the document\" from the research inst. On my way in the underground tunnel to Strelock's group hideaway, all the soldiers were dead, probably by the blood suckers, I think maybe too much monsters kill the more "interesting to fight to" NPCs, if you know the tactics to kill one bloodsucker then killing three is pretty much the same, the same goes with two controllers instead of one, the same grenade does the same job, or when crossing from the Cordon to the Garbage, I know there are three annoying cats and I need to run and jump on the jeep and then take them out, what I meant to say is that just more monsters is just annoying and not a game changer, this far in the game, I don't know what awaits me further on. I've spent there two days to see what respawns, and the only place with activity was in the the electrocuted tunnel , every four to five hours it filled up with dead soldiers and mercs screaming their heart out, excellent looting place, only one soldier managed to enter the underground, maybe the spawning point is in a bad location.
That said, your Mod is a real game changer with many new details that make it as you said to me before: "a survival game, not a shooter". I'm enjoying every moment.

One question though, where can I read about new stuff, regarding the belt, I put there monster parts but got no indication on the radar, I guess I need a special instrument with me, and thing like limiting electricity immune artifacts to 80% which I found out the painful way and the effect of food to stamina instead of just an energy drink? I'm pleased with all the discoveries but maybe there is a summery somewhere?

I followed the instruction of automatic installation of the Argus pack but suffered from random crashes and I lowered Texture resolution to minimum but still some crashes. I decided to try the manual "hard way" installation, I found it on steam: Forums.steampowered.com

and since than, Texture resolution all the way to the right and one crash in more than 30 hours on an old machine (Q6600 2.4 G + HD4870 + 8 GB ram), plays great and looks great.
