Believe me, this is only the beginning, we're planning to get some more custom textures (because the HL2 textures are pretty awful by today's standards)

Honestly, the communication lapse from steam caused a bit of an issue for us, hopefully for day 5's release we'll have a fair bit of cool stuff for you. I have a lot of animating planned.
Frankly this is probably the worst animation I've done yet, I had to rush it a bit. Definitely gonna remake it.

I think keeping it in as a very rare attack could be pretty funny, but I will be doing other attack animations anyway and let the engine choose a random one on attack.

This is actually happening, right now the maps are the framework, the base architecture. We also have a modeller, a mapper (me), and a programmer. So, yeah.
As TCB said earlier,

We're still really early in the development man, current focus is gameplay and basic architecture. When the time comes, the aesthetics will be improved.
We don't need to add anything, we're sure it will be splattered with blood by the time you get near it with all those zombies!
Some decals might be added, I don't know though, you're better off asking TCB about that one.
This isn't actually the end result, by release it will definitely be more polished. Remember this is only a small part of the town, this map should be one of the larger ones.
