the ships design is good, bears a similar resemblence to the Osprey from HL1.
But the rotor casings are far too thick. they would give the thickness of the fuselage a run for its money.
thin them down and add more detail, make the missile bays internal as this is the combine you know it would look much sweeter too.

nice design anyways.
You guys desperately need a spell-checker.

Great stuff, I just hope Foster can produce the second by himself quickly before everyone loses interest in an otherwise amazing and mystical storyline

Dont discount this game based on its length.

There are many games made to a high degree of professionalism which are relatively short, but you must ask yourself this question:

Would you rather the game be:
1. less professional, poorer details but LONGER?

or

2. More professional, far more detailed but SHORTER?

For me option 2 is the obvious choice. Not always can the development team achieve both quality and length, so it has to be a combination of the two. I definetly prefer quality over quantity, as does the majority of the gaming community, if this was otherwise the industry would be as hard pushed as it is today to produce games of greater and greater graphical and technological brilliance.

The eclipse team should be satisfied knowing that the only reason people criticise the game for being short is because they liked it so much they wanted more! Thats certainly what every game developer could only hope to achieve in releasing a mod.

List of things wrong with game:

1. Far too dark in opening scenes
2.Opening scene is devoid of any background information, bad textures and surroundings.
3.Even though Non-linear gameplay is used to an extent, not enough direction is given as to the "proper" way for the player to go. Too often did i fall into that pit without knowing why or how i was supposed to avoid it.
4. Not enough utilisation of the capabilities of the source engine. No details!
5. "STUNSTICK ICON" as the actual icon for the stunstick is simply not good enough. not professional.

Things good:

1. Nice HUD, NPC's, use of combine computers and on screen text.
2. messages were helpful, but were far too informal. As if a combine advisor would say "Were they zombies??? That must mean...." thats far too inprofessional. They would say something like "PROXIMITY alert Lifeforms detected in your area. Be aware of potential Hostiles"

thats just a suggestion.

People are prepared to wait a little while longer for a more immersive and professional experience. I look forward to your next release knowing you will have built upon your mistakes.

for gods sake i hope this is WIP, coz it looks terrible and nothing like black mesa. invest the time in new textures and models and the game will be much better. sheesh!

From what ive read of the terrible, almost painful fan fiction hot56 submitted at halflife2.net about opposing SHEPARD, this mod will sink quicker than the titanic.

I dont think you have the experience or the skills to run a mod which would require such dedication to pull it off well.

To attact potential mappers and especially coders to your mod, you have to show leadership and a view of what your final product is going to be, what its going to accomplish, and most importantly they have to share that view with you, so its no use saying "im making an OpFor2 and i want you to help."

Drawing (poor) pictures of characters and creatures from the past series doesnt help your cause either. you actually need talent to be a conceptual artist.

Well, thats enough of my bitching. Ill give this mod till the end of 2005 b4 it shuts down, just like "Opposing Source"
