Steam Half Life has no "Custom Game". Workaround - Twhl.info -.
This puts "Game Change" in Menu.
Game Change to Focalpoint but it will not start.

Original soundtrack music preferred:
I like this version game play once I got a handle on the weapon selection and ammo display. What I don't care for particularly is the music. It's more like some action TV show. The original soundtrack music shows real artistry. I really miss hearing THE PROFESSIONAL when Mona is whacking the commandos with the sniper rifle. I downloaded a version of the original soundtrack music and put it on a CD I like to hear once in a while.
After experiencing the grown-up qualities of MP2 I am a bit disappointed in the direction taken by MP3. I just can't imagine Max Payne out of NYC.

I installed it in STEAM but I haven't tried it yet. As soon as I did not see a README, etc I new there would be trouble. Many programmers hate to write documentation...witness the long list of clueless comments. I'm not complaining, just hoping to get it working despite the lack of operating instructions.

FYI...MAX PAYNE 2 Evolution works just fine with the STEAM version of MP2. Just follow the Installation Guide. I am a long time fan of MAX PAYNE 1 and 2. I especially like the music in MP2. I don't really get the point of MP3 except to provide yet another venue for multiplayer clans. The single player game is mostly a string of videos that drop you into a fire fight here and there. I really liked the New York mean streets environment as opposed to South American chaos.

I lucked through the opening. In Test 02 again I got lucky. I only recall exiting the vertical wall and ended up on the second level going backwards. Also in my copy of the game the second level has a short extension shelf that does not appear in any of the walkthrough videos. Service Pack 1??? I am totally stuck in Test 02 second level. Watching the walkthrough videos is absolutely no help. I understand the physics but the arcane moves required have no relation to what I had to do in Portal where I have made most of the Achievments and hard levels with a minimum of repetition. I give up. I have been playing video games, especially FPS from Duke Nukem 3D on requiring all kinds of jumps and puzzle solving and this is just no fun.
