I'm sure this has been answered already, but with the starter Makarov it says it should be able to fire in full automatic. I can't seem to find out how to do so. Any help?

I had the same problem even though I had the patch.
The only way I got around it was peaking around the corner and killing the mind controller before he hit me.
I tried just about everything and that was the only way to make the permanent blurring go away.

Not sure if it was discussed yet, but I'm to lazy to check. Ever since the brain scorcher I have had my vision changing from blurred to clear on and off consistently, and infinitely. Any quick fix?

Don't worry, it's recoil will be much to obnoxiously high for it to be too useful.

It's got such light recoil because it shoots 9x18 mak, which is a very underpowered cartridge. The other caliber guns recoil fine I think. Most semi-autos (besides the exceptions like the automag, desert eagle, and maybe anything in 10mm) don't have unmanageable recoil.

Okay, I've said it once I will say it again. MOST rifles (adding a scope to a rifle doesn't make it a sniper rifle), even when used with iron sights, can be effective from 600-800 yards because of the barrel length and caliber size. Even with an 8 inch barrel, a revolver (especially with ought a stock) isn't going to be able to hit much beyond 100 yards. I don't know what video game you got your information from, but read a book some time and visit a shooting range, maybe then you will understand how idiotic what your saying is.

That's not entirely true. A larger caliber handgun can be less accurate, but accuracy is mostly based on barrel length and velocity. .357 mag (and sig for that matter) and .44 mag both have enormous velocity out of the barrel and down range, not to mention the fact that revolvers almost always have longer barrels then semi's. So for the most part, yes, they will be slightly more accurate. They aren't anything like rifles though, and aren't really effective past 100 yards.

It's not the whining it's the fact that people who regular this mod have to see people come in here and ask the same questions over and over with ought bothering to look in the updates or check the forums. Most of this stuff has been answered 100 times.

Agreed, you can get into all that terminal ballistics stuff but all in all you take a bullet from most conventional firearms and your down and out. Besides, it is and always has been more about shot placement then caliber. You can kill someone just as efficiently with a .22 LR as a .308 Win if you put the bullet in the right place.

The range of shotguns isn't even the worst part (even though it ****** me off), it's the damage. Bear hunting guide's often bring a 12 gauge along because its one of the few small arms (non NFA obviously) that are going to stop something like that in it's tracks. Yet I can shoot a enemy in the head radius area and he flinches like I threw a handful of sand at him.

The slug's are even more pitiful.

New economy as in guns cost a lot more, are worth more, etc.
Weapon customization has never been in Stalker SOC, only in CS and COP.
Weapon customization will be in 1.1
Blowouts are going to be in 1.1
New modes for the Arena are going to be in 1.1

Obviously you haven't been keeping up to date or you might have an idea of what your talking about.

lawl, your right, I'm getting sick of this game.
There's just not enough stuff.
Graphics, Stealth, new Arena mode, Weapon customization, new weather, new Economy set up, I mean I just feel like we are missing stuff.
Cus, you know, I could always go play the 100 other mods with all these things.

At the VERY BEST, if you get shot in the tank of a flamethrower it's going to spray fuel which will probably ignite and burn you to death. What I'm getting at is the fact that it is way to cumbersome and ineffective for a stalker to use in the zone.

They aren't going to add a flamethrower for the same reason they aren't going to add a chain gun (at least I hope). This game is supposed to be at least somewhat realistic, and doesn't need super-weapons. If they were going to add a flamethrower they would have to make it so you cant run while carrying it, it overheats fairly quickly, you burn your fuel up quickly, and if a stalker shoots you in the tank you die instantly in a mushroom cloud of fire. Also, it would have to weight around 20-30 pounds at least, which wouldn't allow you to carry anything else.

I think you mean 7.62x54mmR, the caliber used in the Mosin Nagant and the Dragunov.

It's definitely not everybody, it's worked fine for me since day one.
I've got to think it's your system, is there something you all have in common? Like have any of you updated your video card?

In real life it's not uncommon for a dog to take 5 or 6 shots to the head and still keep coming, just read the numerous police reports out there of an officer getting mauled after trying to put down a rabid dog. The shape of their skulls is at an angle to where bullets often reflect off the surface of their heads rather than penetrate, which is why you are supposed to shoot dogs center mass.

Anyways, L.U.R.K. is supposed to have really strong mutants, its not a glitch. It doesn't take nearly as many shots to take down any other humans in game.

I think the tritium iron sights for the pistols would be a great idea if it is possible to render in game. Would REALLY help for times when you don't want to use your nightvision but still want to be able to get a decent sight picture. Maybe even a Ghost Ring sight for the shotguns? If it's even possible you could make the glow of the sights dim after a while as the weapon degrades (like in real life, even though it takes years for them to dim IRL.)

For the Acog problem, it is much preferable to have it mounted on the rails instead of the carry handle because you get a better cheek weld and it is possible to co-witness through the sights.

Sorry Sock, I'm just used to people who play MW2 and suddenly think they are a licensed armorer. You are 100% correct about there being a weapon named "Mini-Dragunov" in game. Totally dropped the ball on that one.

Kinda unrelated, but the AK47 is in absolutely no way a mini-dragonav.
