I did, it was a first attempt.
Barely any luckily! I hate maths! You just need a good understanding of how to do things in certain ways to get the results you want, but that's just environment art and prop/weapon modelling, I have no idea about the other areas of development.
Countless images of AK-47's have those ridges, and the muzzle is an extended version of this (http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~longbow/images/ak47muzzle.jpg)
The extended muzzle usually has two holes each side, but I didn't do them since it can be done with a texture.
And the ridges are from this (http://www.survival.us/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Origanal_ak-47.jpg) which is marked as an AK-47.
If I'm correct or not however, I can't be 100% sure, but I can only go off what I find and the fact there are tons of different versions of the AK rifle doesn't help. The smoothing errors have been fixed since.
We're finding our feet, but it isn't dead.
Pavot died due to the comments made about Potteh and as a result we couldnt trust our work with him.
Most of the devs from Pavot and myself are now helping WW1:Source back to it's feet as we feel it's the right thing to do, I've also given the team all of the models I made for Pavot.
The trigger has space to be pulled back, and there is about 5mm of space between the guard and the front part of the trigger, it's a strange design. Bloody Germans.
I understand that you dislike Potteh, but there are 12 others of us working hard on Pavot, if you make it fail it will ruin the time and effort we put into it, and most of us didn't know about Potteh until this post.
It's a different team, so we'd prefer to start from scratch :)
We're already reviving it, just making a newer version.

I'm part of the development team working on Pavot and have been working along side Potteh for a few months now, I have to admit that reading this has taken me by surprise, but he's been nothing but professional and kind to me and the rest of the team.
Thanks maniac, it's been tweaked a little since, just minor stuff really, we'll probably upload pictures of them all when they're textured too.
