I feel pretty bad your comment got rated down so hard man but you're right this happens every time they release a class specific update and we don't want them to stop that.
However isn't it a bit unbalanced for the contest to be about overall kills when different amounts of player play each class? I guess valve has checked that but it seems unlikely that there arethe same amount of people playing each class.

I've actually taken a look at those textures before, almost all of them are as not as large as standard textures in hl2 and they visibly repeat in-game.

Brilliant idea, I only suggest that you remember to customize everything because anything vanilla hl2 with a theme like thise will stick out like a sore thumb. Blood decals, splatters and all. But I love the visual style here, simplistic and sexy!
Forget that, I just got the game working now and played it. That was great, you've got something great there. I recommend you keep it simple, like a squad control simulator, or a zombie game, that would be awesome.
In the far future, space travel has reached farther that light speeds. Humanity takes over other planets within their reach as they expand their grasp. Earth, is slowly abandoned by anyone with the capability to do so for the new world because it has become a dump. This slowly builds a rift between the new and old planet, the tension reaches a boiling point when the newer planet, is officially renamed new earth, and designated the new homeworld of huanity, while old earth is declared a legal dumping point for garbage and waste. Decades pass before old earth gains the ability to launch an attack on new earth, sparking a human civil war. Old earth's recources are limited, but they have more man power and a larger planet leading to wave attacks against new earth's highly trained and specialized army. In the midst of all this a new foe makes an appearance, an alien force waiting for the right moment. Planning this attack for years to find a new home for their race who lost their own to nuclear fallout in a civil war they move onto both new and old earth to tarraform the planets and take them over. This side used highly developed technology and units with special abilities to wage war, along with trained wildlife saved from their homeworld in wave tactics, their recources are limited so far from home, but they are desperate for a new place to settle.

I can totally imagine this like the witch in l4d, roaming through the halls with its intestines trailing behind, if you step on them or bump into him he freaks and starts attacking. Don't know why that suddenly came to me.

Very nice mapping, you know what would improve it though? Some custom buildingtemplate textures, maybe it's just because I see those mapping all the time but they stand out a lot.

I remember a similar tunnel one of the hl2 episodes and I really think that the ceiling needs a new texture. In an underground tunnel a tiled ceiling doesn't really make any sense, not to mention it looks weird with it broken but all the tiles intact.
Oh please remove that, the giant rocket launcher I can understand but Katanas are such un-viable.

Yeah, it does need polishing, I'm going to be putting together a dev team for the next release so it should be more polished. After the underwater tunnel you'll have to jump onto the train and walk down the train tracks. There's a door on the left side of the tunnel.

I have no knowledge of guns but that looks like a precision weapon to me from the long barrel, has a good contrast to weapons for the sons of eden.

I see what your going for there... and I like it. I like the contrat between the sons of eden and the rebels.
It was originally made for a contest that required dev textures, I like the style it gave so I continued using them for the rest of the map as well. Also I think that dev textures work well for puzzle maps because they don't over complicate the environment, nothing but the essentials.

Love that mapping work, looks really spectacular. One thing that disturbed me was the abruptness that the ambient creeps sound started. Anyways, I can tell that you guys are really mastering the ambiance in this mod.
I'd just use color correction on the entire screen to show that, multiple skins would just be a hassle.
