I really don't get why you guys call them communist off of one phrase of theirs IE For the greater good. :/ If you look closely the tau are far more similar to the early Indian empire in terms of their politics and class base system.

After all in communism there was only the elite party members and the commoners and it was all under the guise that everyone was supposedly equal IE the Russian communists touted socialist ideologies but in reality they were closer to a feudal or despotism type of government with the "elite" class unofficially or as party members officially pulling all the strings.

Communism in its true sense is organized and collective anarchy.
There is no state, market and exclusive rights and privileges in communism, only collectivist self ruling societies.

Socialism is the proletariat dictatorship phase that would lead to a true communist state, where the people and the party would make the reforms needed to a communist society to be created and keep it safe from capitalist influences and corruption.

True Communism never happened, all attempts remained in the socialist aspect of it, mostly because greed isn't a characteristic exclusive of capitalistic societies but human trait, where the party and the figure head leading the party didn't want to give up the power they acquired in the socialist revolution.

You are referring to the Russian Communist state which was better and more adequately descried as stalinsisim as it was he along with the Bolshevik party that corrupted and later hunted down and killed the original socialist revolutionaries after Lenin kicked the bucket, the Menshevik party was outlawed/disbanded, and Trotsky was exiled and prevented from becoming the next prim minister. Hmmm, yes in theory for a true socialist state to happen as explained in the Karl Marx's Socialist Party Manifesto there must have a proletariat dictatorship(Dictatorship is a authoritarian form of government where the leader has absolute power, almost like a Monarchy but without the royalty thing), where the dictator is in charge of taking care of the reforms needed for a communist state to arise(cultural, political, economical, etc) all in pro of the worker and to remove the bourgeoisie class and capitalist influences, instead of the ruler representing the higher economical classes and their interests in socialism the ruler puts the resources of the state to enhance the working class.

And yes, in a true communist regime people would be their own dictators as they dictate their own rules as long they aren't harmful for society or another human being.

Per see socialism isn't bad, people just tend to **** things over and take more advantage of an ideal that tries to improve the less fortunate's lives.

About the Trotsky and Stalinist socialism, I was referring to the classical definition of socialism, the one defined by Marx and other early communists, not the perverted versions that took over Russia, Cuba, North Korea, China and to some extent Venezuela.
