Actually, in a sense, the original caption is true (here comes the flame war). We've had reasons in the past, but now the only country we have reason to be invading is one we're "aligned" with. With Osama and Suddam gone, we can relax a bit on the "terrorists" and maybe switch focus to what our true target should be, instead of panicking over Iran getting an efficient Nuclear Power Station.
Remember the USS Liberty
Of course the best option is simply pulling out of this foreign involvement crap and focus on keeping the troops home and our physical shores safe. The reign of the Amerikan Empire has to stop. (The "k" is not a typo)
And abandon Israel, one of our closest allies? I think not. Iran is not working on a power station, thats a load of crap. They threatened to wipe out an entire people and that alone makes them worthy of being turned into a glass parking lot, regardless of the circumstances. You do not threaten an entire people and get away with it.
1. What official treaty was signed that has the United States being an Ally of Israel?
2. If we're so close to Israel how do you explain the Liberty incident?
3. Finally, Israel has played the same card in regards to countries like Jordan. Also, attacking Iran will just open up a whole new can of worms, possibly another World War, since both Russia and China are backing Iran. I personally don't think the US needs a full blown war at this point in time.
Though we should be bombing Israel, in truth I think we should just pull out and leave that little warmongering country to their own devices.
Specifically, the war stemmed from EGYPT'S decision to blockade ISRAEL'S port of Eilat, under international law a casus belli, or act of war, in addition to belligerent ARAB threats to destroy ISRAEL.
Unfortunately, we gave Israel nukes, so if we completely pulled out, I have a feeling they would warm them and launch them the second someone tried to take it over, leading to a nuclear exchange in the Middle East, and possibly Global Thermo-nuclear War. Wouldn't you rather play a nice game of Chess?
We cannot pull out of the international community. Trust me I wish we could, but we have become too involved after WWII to be able to pull out. As to the Liberty incident it was ruled a mistake and they have paid $17,132,709 for the incident (including for the families of lost sailors and the damaged boat).
Also, According to Israeli sources, at the start of the war on June 5, General Rabin informed Commander Castle, the American Naval leader in Tel Aviv, that Israel would defend its coast with every means at its disposal including sinking unidentified ships. Also, he asked the U.S. to keep its ships away from Israel's shore or at least inform Israel of their exact position. The United States did not provide Israel any information about Liberty's mission or location.
Lastly, I dont know about you but I would rather Iran not get a nuclear weapon.
Like Hell we can't pull out. Yes a bunch or warmongering coalitionists want us to stay, but little is stopping us from pulling out and minding our own damn business.
Second, the Liberty was in INTERNATIONAL, IE neutral territory. It wasn't near Israeli coasts.
Oh no Iran is going to get Nukes?! Oh wait if they fire even ONE missile there is a missile shield set-up by NATO starting in Turkey that would eliminate this threat. Chances they would produce a large stockpile, non-existent. Trust any person who is capable of rational thought. Why in god's name would Iran, a nation capable of attaining and harnessing Nuclear weapons (indicating their people are quite smart and are rational not the crazy madmen of the world mainstream media portrays them to be), risk being reduced to nuclear ash by offensively nuking Israel? They wish to attain nukes to bring a bartering chip to the diplomatic table, they are not crazy enough to use them, but having them would very much make leading nations think twice before attempting to push them around. That's the philosophy my Iranian classmate had when i talked to him about reasons for Iran's pursuit of nukes. Also forget about pulling out of Israel, the Jewish lobby in the US is large. That would never happen.
Haha owned

I can explain North Korea and Iran in just one phrase "Loud bark but no bite"
