I'm sick and tired of seeing this argument still being made so I'm just going to go ahead and say it. To do away with or change the Electoral college will require a Constitutional amendment and to do that, you have to get 2/3 of the states to agree. Essentially, you would have to convince all or most of the smaller states (population-wise), to disenfranchise themselves and surrender the small amount of power they do have in favor of the big city states.
Those of you advocating to ditch the electoral college are essentially saying the smaller states are to now become irrelevant. Not only will it not happen, but you are basically overwriting the democratic process because you didn't like the results which is a rather idiotic stance to take for a so called "enlightened" westerner. You know better than this, but you just couldn't tolerate the idea of a President elect Trump. Ive been a conservative since the day my parents introduced me to the world of politics and had to put up with 8 years of Barack Obama. You're gonna sit down and take these next years under Trump like an adult, and that's final. The world has not ended, there is no fire and brimestone falling from the sky.
Grow up, accept this, and move on.

There was this thing, a century ago, when some hicks got angry and attacked the less-****** northern bit of the country. You know, then we burnt half of your half down and established the simple fact that the United States is a Union. In all fairness conservatives are mostly on the brink of death, so I'll not fault you for memory loss too much.

Resulted in Little Bighorn, George Custer along with 5 companies of Union soldiers being wiped out due to how bad they ****** off the Indians using that policy. You know, burning their camps, killing all the men, using their families as human shields to force a "surrender" if you wanna call it that. It's even talked about in Custer's own book he wrote prior to Little Bighorn.
Go ahead, read about it. Same guy who burned down half the south, General Phil Sheridan, issued those orders. A strategy which George Custer and his 7th Cavalry adopted in the war with the Indians.
Total war is nothing but terror tactics.
And just for your information, I was born in California and lived there for the first 18 years of my life. Obviously your indoctrination centers failed miserably. If a conservative family like mine could survive even in liberal la la land, then obviously you're giving yourself far too much credit.
There's more conservatives out there than you think, and Donald Trump winning this election just proved that. Hell, he won over 80% of the Evangelical vote.
Your party is broken, divided, and petulant.
If you're smart, you'd check what went wrong.
Oh please, what party. There are oligarchs and then there are the voters who refused to vote for said oligarchs. Trump didn't win, nor do I care about some tribals getting steamrolled by progress---for whatever reason you decided to ramble about that. The Left'll vote for Sanders or someone similar next time, if not there will probably be a new 'grass roots' party and Democrats will never win again.
Trump's "Victory": Nobody wanted to vote for Shillary, some people wanted to vote for Trump. Thus, he "wins." Personally I don't care, as long as he doesn't **** with my healthcare too much. I wrote-in Sanders.
The ramble was to point out hypocrisy, and that it did. There was nothing less ****** about the north, it did things just as deplorable as the south it defeated.
