Back in the late 1770's and 1780's, the original plan from the founding fathers was to have 1 term per president, to avoid getting truly power hunger idiots in office. However, Washington was still seen as the "Great American Hero," the majority of the US people wanted him to stay in office another term (Washington himself was not to keen on this idea). However, the rest of the government wasn't quite formed up yet, so they let it slide once.
Then, several years later, you get more presidents (FDR, Bush, etc) that decide to use Washington's 2nd term as an example and keep running for election. Eventually, since a good majority of the US public are idiots, they considered it normal and added as an Amendment.
Ok, my rant be done for the day. May not be 100% accurate, but the idea is there.
Though if FDR only was president for two terms the country would have been worse off. I'd say hes probably one of the best if not the best presidents the US ever had.
I love this country. I will die for this country. Despite everything he says (all if which is true), we are still the greatest country on earth.
My greatest fear is this country following the same path as Rome. Starting out as a great republic, and ending as a hated empire.
It was making sense at first but then is was getting a bit untrue then the last thing was true. the things in the middle were untrue. Much more than half of America is Christian and hates homosexuality and is against abortion. Scientists always use animals to test weapons and chemicals and don't care if they parish or die.
But there is still protest, and "activist movement" (for lack of a better phrase). The article only says that some of us accept certain things and hypocritically don't accept others. We have let our government get away with too much; if people would open their eyes and ignore the political and economic bull-crap the government pours out instead of accepting it as a normal part of society, they might see that.
"Scientists" do not test weapons and chemicals on animals. Businessmen and soldiers with college degrees in "science" test chemicals and weapons on animals. A real scientist is only out to learn, and never at the expense of any one, or anything else.
I don't believe that many of the people who say they're Christian really are:
A: So what are you? Christian, Jewish, what?
B: Oh, well my mother was Jewish and my father was Christian, so I'm both.
A: NO YOU'RE NOT! YOU CANNOT BE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS SIMULTANEOUSLY, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CONTRADICT EACH OTHER! WTF HAPPENED TO MORALITY!
If this was in and about China, we'd never hear from him again xd.
Too bad it's true :(
Bravo! He gets it. This is why our country is so pathetic now. I am surprised this is in a Michigan Newspaper, I hope they did not hang him.
BTW, Michigan is not a right to work state is it?
Very sad but so true.
Agreed we need ether a amendment ageinst people contiusiously running for office or a whole new document

We have the presidency covered by that, but now we need to prevent people being in the SENATE and HOUSE OF REPS from serving for 50+ years
