they even called the panzer III "doorknocker", because it wasn`t able to destroy tanks like the t34

im sorry to interupt, but this is a panzer 4, not a panzer 3.
Panzer 4's had the long barreled guns, panzer 3's had short barrels because the Germans were afraid that over-hanging gun barrels would get damaged.

I have no idea how you got that idea, although you are right on the pz IV carrying the Long 7.5 cm and the pz III having the short 7.5 late-war.
Initially the pz IV was meant to support infantry with the 7.5 cm kwk l/24. later on, as the pz III became outdated in the role of anti-tank weapon, it was decided to upgun the pz IV with the longer 7.5 cm kwk L/43, and the pz III received the 7.5 cm kwk l/24.
