It's elefant isn't it? Could be a ferdinand but I tthink it looks more like an elefant.
Ye, that's an elefant, but in some ways both names, Tiger and Elefant, are correct as this is as "Panzerjäger Tiger (P)"Elefant"". It is also called "Ferdinand" as this Tankhunter was based on Ferdinand Porsches competetiv desinge for the Tiger heavy tank.
iirc, it was renamed to elefant after they added machineguns.

Epic fail tank destroyer! When it first when into combat at kursk sure it was effective against tanks but 1/3 of all the 89 ferdinands were knocked out, many by Russian tank killer squads who blew off the tracks with explosive charges. It was extremely vulnerable to infantry attacks because it did not have a machine gun. Later models had machines guns but its reputation remained.
the cold war era S-Tank, the one with the cannon FIXED to the hull, (you can't move it a single degree) still had two hullmounted and one machineguns on the commanders cupola.
The S-TANK is one of my favorites.
