Good game? The trailer made it look like a bad version of World in Conflict.

yes thats the first thing to come in mind but WiC plays somewhat different so I'd say if you liked WiC then you will like this one too. I must say that after over 60 hours of playtime I do not regret getting it. There could be more polishing on unit movement and the UI isn't the best with the chat in the middle of the screen and there aren't that many maps and they look all the same so no cities or scenery changes like in wic just farmland in europe with little villages and sometimes a sea. There is barely a singleplayer, about 20 missions but not really a connection or plot, they are good but its a MP game.

In MP it shines, they found a nice balance between realism and gameplay, so for an amateur the units handle very realistic. Also the huge variety of units give it this pokemon feeling where you exchange units from your deck to optimize it. So you have many doing the same thing but specialised in some category. Sadly there aren't many game modes, just time or points to achieve and always the commander killing.

In short its a good game in need of some polishing but definitely worth checking out. The price at 50$ is also fair for a new game. oh and you can have friends and clans and theres an ingame chat.

yeah I didn't except it to play at all like WiC, which despite its great atmosphere at graphics gets pure boring due to its lack of game modes and variety.

I'm definitely checking out gameplay vids, but would you say this game has more variety then WiC? Also I the unit customization seems great, wanted that in WiC ^_^ Just hoping it's balanced and not just "later unlocks is better in all ways" but instead gives you other tactical options.

Oh and I really hope you aren't as dependant on your team mates as in WiC, because there only one or two guys have the AA, and if they are bad it means the rest of the team will get spawn raped and shredded by helicopters :/

well theres the basic team dependency, in a 4v4 you will need a good team. There are no classes, you choose your deck of units which is enough for a fully varied force, in the lobby or the 2 minutes of deployment you chat with the others and maybe set some plan or do some basic communication or you don't talk at all.

The units are well balanced out, the unlocks aren't much stronger they just differ so unit wise a newbie still got good chances against an high level player, its more about the experience in game and how clever you play and a little bit of luck and a lot about what you encounter.

The game does suffer from lack of game modes and variety in the maps. If it wasn't for the many units and the different tactics you can pull out with them I'd have dropped the game long time ago. yet I am still at optimizing my deck.

Many think that arty especially mlrs/smerch are way too devastating. well if it wasn't it would be useless IMO and arty should be feared. helicopters are quite a threat however they are very fragile and any mg can shoot at them. Every player got AA in his deck so countering them is sometimes easy sometimes difficult.

You can play whenever the hell you like, you can be a specialist and focus on support/defense, all out steam roll or hit and run, or you can play as a full fledged commander commanding with a large variety of different units. I've been playing a while and I found out those group made up of specialist always win cause of their cohesive command movement, but sometimes I see an entire group of Apache Attack Helicopter, just to be taken out by forest hidden light gun and AA gun cause their rockets can't hit hidden units and embarrassingly withdraws after losing more than 12 to hidden ambushes, but helicopters are deadly in packs, but even a simple machine gun on tank can bring it down, always scout first before committing any sort of movement, and supplies, I hate supplies but this sort of bring the game back to balance, the more powerful the tank, the more likely you need to resupply it, and the more distance between supplies, the easier your supply unit are cut off and captured if un-escorted.

The gameplay feels way too dry IMO. It might just be me, but I found it really boring after a while.

I actually enjoy the game, you should play the hardest difficulty and play Alamo or go online and compete in the multiplayer, this game supersede World In Conflict for me in any way, cause of the variety of ways you fight your opponent, I never actually sticked to one deck cause it will eventually get boring, you be surprise how super tanks like Abram and Challenger can be smashed with T-55 ambushes and light vehicles with auto cannon can bring down Apache and Havoc AtH with the right tactic and terrain, sometimes large tank column can be defeated by fast moving attack hit and run gun armed vehicles. The morale can make Leapord 2 pinned by a TO-55 a flamethrower tank, mission is psychotically tough without saving cause every mistaken move is extremely costly, I love WiC but WEE is in every way fulfill my dream of a true East VS West military wargame. Never again you see a BMP-1, T-72, and Mi-24 in all its glory compared to its abysmal performance in Iraq

Description

Shows the list for all NATO and Warshaw Pact Tanks, at least the ones I unlocked so far but there aren't many more to unlock. Interestingly the French got quite some powerful units in the game.
