Probably destroyed by a Hezbollah 9M133 Kornet missile during the Lebanon war in 2006.
Did any of the tank crew survived this?
Considering the IDF prefers to keep their soldiers alive rather then train new ones, I know for a fact the Merkava has multiple exit doors so they may be alive and fighting inside of a new Merkava tank.
Well whether or not the ammunition racks exploded before or after the crew made it out is not possible for us to know in this pic.
Look for opened hatch, that is the first thing indicating that some of the crew managed to exit.
