I think Americans destroyed it because it got disabled. read something about them destroying a disabled tank in wikipedia. or maybe it just spontaneously combusted :)

And other side can claim different.
I manage to find many photos of destroyed Abrams tanks, and I simply can't believe that crew destroy all of them. Some of them even have holes made by AT weapons and tanks looks pretty f*cked.

Nobody said they destroyed ALL M1's themselves. Learn to read.

but A LOT M1 Abrams tanks were destroyed by friendly fire after they were disabled and the crew abandoned it. There were more M1's being destroyed by friendly fire than enemy.

I agree no one can know what destroyed it or the conditions surrounding its destruction but you cannot deny that it is one of the top 5 tanks in the world. The design is close to 30 years old and yes everything can be destroyed. but looks at whats destroying it. IED's which could be anything from artillery shells to homemade bombs to top of the line RPG's. The M1 is not indesturctable but takes a lot to mess them up. There are multiple instances of other m1's shooting at a damaged m1 and then later that same tank is just repaired and sent into the field. Other countries are catching up on designs so it will be interesting to see the next American tank.

Well we don't need wiki to know that letting the enemy use your stuff is not a fun idea.

So yea there are reports of disabled tanks being destroyed with for the same reasons.

It is quite normal that crew disable their own tanks after they survive serious damages.
But we don't know how destroy this tank and other US tanks on photos I have from Iraq... and both sides claims different.
