Description
Challenger 1 performing at Bovington tank museum. Currently phased out in favour of the Challenger 2, most have been sold to the Royal Army of Oman and the Jordanian Armed Forces. It is armed with a Royal Ordnance L11A5 120mm rifled gun and has the record for the longest range tank kill which was during the Gulf War. It uses the classified Chobham armour system, supposedly some of the best tank armour in the world.
