About the Zimmerit, I'm not THAT especialist about this kind of stuff, but...
I think it is supposed to work as spaced (or composite armor), it would break when hit by HE or small calibers cannons, such as 20/30/40/50mm
isn't it just to stop Magnetic AT charges to stick to the Tiger? Since Magnetic AT grenades and charges was the primary infantry portable AT weapon of soviet union capable of damaging a Tiger?
