Looks like a Pakistani(Possibly downgraded)version of the Type 96. Wonder how well it will hold out against it's possible enemy's, the T-90's and Arjun's.
BTW only 500 rounds for the 12.7 mm?

Probably horrible. Heard that the Indian T90s have more high tech equipment crammed in them than in the ones the russian army uses. Not to mention active protection like shtora, era like kontakt 5, relikt which alone would make the T90 pretty much indestructible by a conventional anti-tank gun.

By conventional I mean Anti tank rockets like tow, milan, kornet, as well as common tanks like the abrams, leo. 1980's Kontakt 5 held up against pretty much everything nato made in the 80's. Relikt is said to be 2-3 times more powerfull and weapons haven't changed much since the 80's. Still same guns, planes, only more modern munitions.

it was just the fact that you said 'gun'. An AT gun is like, a pak 40 or zis-3.

Actually the Khalid is very comparable to the T-90, and whoever told you that the Indians have 'crammed' higher tech in their hulls more than the Pakistani's is wrong. Appearances are deceiving I assure you. Also, Pakistan doesn't use NATO rounds in its tanks. Pakistan uses DU round's like the Naiza 125 mm DU round (armor penetration: 550 mm in RHA at 2 km). The main cannon is a Russian origin, locally built 125mm smoothbore cannon. Al-Khalid has modular composite armor and explosive reactive armor, nuclear-biological-chemical defenses, an effective thermal smoke generator, internal fire extinguisher and explosion-suppression system. The infra-red signature of the tank is reduced by infra-red reflective paint. Al-Khalid 1 is equipped with a newly developed indigenous ERA which is not only light weight, but also more resistant to APFSDS, HEAT and HE-FS rounds. Also, the Khalid Tank is NOT a downgraded version of anything. The Khalid was built from scratch by Pakistan and China to counter Soviet and Indian T-90's, and T-72's. To improve its arsanel, Pakistan is developing the Khalid 2.
