Hitler's religious beliefs is a debate many of us here know far too well. In light of a comment made by Spudman619 in another image, I thought I'd make this image to debate the issue. Atheists like to establish Hitler's Christianity with his quotes from the twenties, particularly this one:
"As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice, and if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people."
However, by 1941, Hitler's comments to Christianity were negative.
"National Socialism and religion cannot exist together....
The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity....
Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things."
It's clear that by this time, Hitler had rejected Christianity and religion. Hitler was no Christian. Hitler's hatred of religion extended to persecution the Churches and suppressing religion altogether.
Found this quick article (a GCSE resource from the BBC) detailing the Nazi's persecution of the Churches.

The German Faith Movement (a political religion inspired by Paganism) was the only religion supported properly by Nazi Germany. It sought to move people away from Christianity and was founded by Jakob Wilhelm Hauer, another anti-Christian.
The four main themes of this movement were:
- The propagation of the 'blood and soil' ideology
- The replacement of Christian ceremonies by pagan equivalents; the most favoured pagan deity being the sun, as can be seen from the flag of the faith movement.
- The rejection of Christian ethics
- The cult of Hitler's personality.
Indeed, The "Nazi Master Plan" contain descriptions of how the Nazis planned to persecute the Christian Churches.

Indeed, the Nazis had plan to remove Christianity out of the picture altogether.

There was nothing "Christian" about Hitler or the Nazis.
"There was nothing "Christian" about Hitler or the Nazis."
I was about to say something to that extent. Simply put I'm not surprised in the lest by Hitler hating Christianity.
Furthermore wasn't Hitler a strong believer in evolution? Not that believing in evolution leads to such terrible crimes but it certainly doesn't do much to stop them.
The existence of something shouldn't be defined in any lesser or greater extent by it doing nothing to stop people like Hitler.
Although I would consider people the exception to that rule. But that's another discussion.
Evolution has nothing to deal with Hitler's philosophy and actions. Evolution is the biological process where organisms struggle to survive by gradually changing their bodies through procreation to adapt to environments. Since science is objective without any agenda, he used it as propaganda to justify himself, when obviously he was acting out of his own hatred of different religions, philosophies, and races.
Apparently he believed in the debunked social Darwinism theory. Social Darwinism says we shouldn't help the weak basically. I have to agree with Lt.Dann on evolution though:
Hitler's belief in evolution certainly wasn't a motivation at all for what he did.
Sieg Heil!
Just remember what the nazi party and the church did together.
I feel sad about them, no one wants to be on their side. The atheist says that they were christian, and the christians says that were anti-christian. The nazi party had no official religion. Just get over it and leave the führer alone.
The Nazi party persecuted the Church from what I recall.
You seem to be a neo nazi jack-***. Beat it scum bag.
Weren't the Nazis planning to bring old Germanic pagan religions ?
They started The German Faith Movement.
This is so ridiculous as to debate which pope was actually devout. Dictators and manipulators used, use and will use religion for their needs as long as there are religious people (and then they will find something else). Whatever he said for Christianity or against is irrelevant (especially because he said both things). Everything he did was to strengthen his position, even propaganda of German supremacy. This also applies to all those nice uncles on next image.
Which agrees with my argument. And for what reason would Hitler have to attack Christianity in private? It's clear that he personally hated it.
Note that I'm not calling him an atheist either but he was clearly against all established religions.
Well, for what I know, Hitler and those close around were interested in old Germanic mythology and also Asian mythology. For creating new pure race, of course.
