Slavic paganism has always fascinated new. I should dedicate some of my free time to research it and early Slavic cultures, especially those that eventually became Serbian. I've always wondered how the Slavic folk surrendered its faith and became orthodox.

Just how many traditions still exist today?

Orthodox Christianity gave them a single state religion and empowered the king of the Rus as the legitimate ruler of all his people, not just the ones that worshipped one of the pagan gods of the slavic pantheon.

There is obvious reasons why the monotheistic religions ended up being the most progressive and highly adopted, forced conversion was not the case most of the time.

I suppose i can agree with both of you but one thing is for sure : mermaids are cool and Slavic mermaids :O could not expect to exist

It seems women had much finer activities in other times
