Not sure they will continue Age of Mythology
If i would be them i would make AOM2 the sequel with current gen graphics and all , and the Celts

Sadly, Propably not...
The Norse are cool, but I think they are a little misplaced, compared to the Greeks and Egyptians because of the time they where in. The Celts would have fit better, but there is less information to find about the Celts ofcourse

So , so , i think there is enough mythology to be found about the Celts
I can even put my mind myself and improvize a good tech tree for Celts in AOM
The more difficult part is finding all the minor gods but in the rest i think is not that hard

Celts would revolve around farming and food intensive units. They would train Champions which would deal melee area damage (Claymore swords) and extra damage vs myth units.
Their Infantry line would be Dagger and Shield frontliners, and Pikemen with a slight range so they could attack from the backline.
Ranged units would be Javelin Throwers, with extra damage vs archers, and Longbowmen which would deal less damage than other archers but have far greater range.
Cavalry would be reserved to the Stronghold building and would be melee Chariots.
Siege units would be Iron Wolves, torsion catapults that would hurl incendiary hay ball which deal little damage (compared to other similar units) but leave a burning ground effect that last for a few seconds and damages anything in the area, and Capped Rams, slow melee siege with extra defense vs ranged attacks.
Ships.would be the same as any other faction, only with the costumary slight stat tweeks.
Myth units would be a large variety of faery, daemonic and elven creatures, including Griffins, Banshees, Undead Revenants and other things the celtic mythology is actually abundant in.
Druids would be a priest unit that grants a paralizing poison buff to your other units, as druids were reportedly master chemists.

All in all, Celts as a faction would not be hard to make.

Applauses ! * claps hands *

Good , you are good
It would not be hard to make but am not a dev of AOM neither my project is for AOM
Will see what i can plan to include from all you said in my project for the Celts but all this might not fit with the AOE2 format

My ideas would only really work on AoM, in AoE a faction like this would be either severely under or overpowered, depending on what you did with the myth units.

I also had another idea:
The 3 main gods would be Cernnullos, Morrigan and Toutatis. Each would have 2 special endgame upgrades for basic units that would improve stats normal upgrades don't touch or add abilities.
Cernnullos would be able to upgrade the Druids into shapeshifters which could transform in Cave Bears, losing their poison ability and getting a slow and powerful attack and a lot of hitpoints while transformed, and the Longbowmen into Rangers which would improve their sight and allow them to hide from sight (though towers, castles and flying units would be able to see them).
Morrigan would upgrade the Dagger and Shield Warriors to Woad Raider (dagger gets replaced by a hatchet and get cool body painting) with greater attack and movement speed, and Pikemen into Schrilton which would give them Formation Fighting ability, adding a deffensive bonus to other infantry in very close proximity.
Toutatis would upgrade the Chariots into Warlords, granting them extra damage vs Hero units and a Taoiseach aura which improves the damage of nearby human units, and the Javelin Throwers into Slayers, with a resistance to myth units and better pierce armour.

You should find a site with future AOM ideas and post them there , you got something in you and i mean it

In my project there will be 2 types of elite units , one per history direction , 2 heroes and 2 myth units from both wonders ( 2 wonders now , one per history direction ) but in the rest their warriors have to be the same type as everyone else with the difference that all will look ethnically proper like i plan

Making every unit unique is beyond our current times and even beyond Miss Corvega V 12 here haha

But all that would be great nonetheless

Description

Morrigan is known as the goddess of war, with her name loosely interpreted to mean “Great Queen,” “Phantom Queen” or “Queen of Demons.” She was believed to hover over a battlefield in the form of either a crow or a raven, and supposedly influenced or predicted the outcome of the battle. She appeared to Dagda on the feast of Samhain, had sex with him, and promised to aid him in the upcoming battle. With her aid, Dagda was victorious in his battle.

However, the Celtic god Cuchulainn did not recognize the power of Morrigan when she appeared to him as a beautiful maiden and offered her love to him. When Cuchulainn died in battle, a crow manifestation of Morrigan settled on his shoulder.
