Polytheism is the belief or worship in multiple deities usually assembled into a pantheon of gods and goddesses, along with their own religions and rituals. Polytheist.
The griffin, griffon, or gryphon is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and an eagle's talons as its front feet. Because the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle the king of birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. The griffin was also thought of as king of all creatures. Griffins are known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions. Adrienne Mayor, a classical folklorist, proposes that the griffin was an ancient misconception derived from the fossilized remains of the Protoceratops found in gold mines in the Altai mountains of Scythia, in present-day southeastern Kazakhstan, or in Mongolia, though this hypothesis has been strongly contested as it ignores pre-Mycenaean accounts. In antiquity it was a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine.
I got full respect for griffons
Not sure how Darwinistic archaeology can fit with Mythology but griffons were not dinosaurs
Dinosaurs did exist but they were present in far more forgotten ages in the past , still not 65 million years back , from what i found i think they survived far later than that
Perhaps because they are magical creatures, perhaps they just vanish completely when the die, without leaving a trace
Yes !! Well said
They vanished along with the mythical lands of Avalon , Valhalla etc. They moved to other planes of existence and all the mythic folk followed
No dwarves today , no elves , no griffons
Maybe they will return one day
I bet you would like drinking with a real dwarf like Gimli
Yes perhaps one day...
Hahah yeah I would love to
I would like to befriend an unicorn and ride with him
I would love to have a gryphon, they only chose the noble of heart to ride them to battle and represented divine power and right.
Yes that would fit you well
Hrmph ! Nobody said anything at my historical finds but when something mythological is brought they sure are more welcomed
Mythology is more intriguing it seems
Btw i added two more images regarding Babel at my profile in case you wanna talk more there
I'm having a headache and i feel good for nothing now , maybe only good to be tied up in the back of the unicorn or the gryphon
