They are called the Illuminati, which means Enlightened, because they know what really happened at any point in History and who really controls the Earth and civilization. Or at least that is the theory.
Fortunately not just them know about that
There are natural illuminated minded persons that figured out everything on their own

Depends on what you think a soul is. The book of Genesis says Adam "became a living soul" after God breathe life into him, so he did not receive a spirit in his flesh or a ghostly persona, so a soul means a living thing in the Bible. It also says that souls die, which enforces the idea that souls are not spirit essence but life.
A soul cannot die for good like a body does , it is immortal yet not invincible too but it does say a soul's death would occur in Hell
For me the soul is whatever makes your wishes , dreams , fears and feelings that more or less do not come out all the time but only when spending time alone and thinking or when sleeping and such
I feel it entirely that there is a part of me inside me that is not related to my body , I am not just flesh and bones walking but more and unseen but detectable and it lives inside my body , is what I really am , my energy
In other ways I think of the soul as the ideal state of existence
