In a real situation it would be a catch , or a trick most likely
but i think this is theoretically speaking a question if you would become immortal or not
I would ask before accepting this , what would be the catch to be sure and i would be very attentive at who offers me this

Sorry for being a bit vague but I said 'Why not' But I surely will ask if there is a catch or not and if so, asking what the catch is
But now when I think more... Being immortal would be awesome to see the world progress and get better... or regress and being end up in a really dark society and wishing to be death...
But I think I want to become immortal so I can live the future and fight to make the world better when/where needed untill the end of times
But I would only want it of someone close to me or with someone who I can get allong with well want it to so I can alway's have someone close forever since you can make friends but they will all die one day when being immortal... but that's the curse of being immortal I think...

About society it only depends on how much you would be stuck in it . If you can leave at any time from there it would not be a problem
Making the world better is not an easy thing and few can achieve that feat . This is easy to say but very hard to do
Many of us desire it though but the opposition is the problem , those that oppose the ones that want to make the world better
And at some point you might come to think that the quickest way to make the world better is to get rid of the opposition

If i have a chance to take this portion, i would ask one thing: "Is there a way to die when you got tired from this life..."
Because the immortality has a lot of its variants... And not all of them are cool...
Immortal does not equal invincible
Surely you can die as an immortal person but that would defeat the whole purpose of immortality
Not really . Being immortal is being released from the confines of a small mortal life of nearly 100 years like we live
If the current society and world is bad for you , all you have to do is live on until the society and the world falls and another one comes , if that is what you meant
More so , you can just live on until the means are advanced enough to leave to another world or even create your own society somewhere else
Immortality means endless possibilities but they just take time
But yeah , you made a point , invincibility would also be equally valuable with immortality

And like i said, immortality has a lot of forms... What if you got it... and your body, physical body, dies one day... what happens to your consciousness? It goes straight the other world or stays with dead body? I think this is worst what can happen...
I understand what you mean but I could never get tired of something I like but yes , being moderate can prevent boredom but it can have the opposite effect just like drugs
The more you have it the more often you need it , so you can never get tired of it
Life , joy , beauty , liberty and love are like absolute drugs , you can never get tired of them
The soul/spirit is already immortal , the body is not
If the body becomes immortal too it just becomes one with the already immortal soul which is exactly the aim
I personally aim to live forever , I plan so many things to do
Is just a matter of finding purpose with yourself in your life Comanche , once you found that purpose you will want to live on , eventually forever even
