This is the best depiction of Atlas I ever saw. Really like this picture, it looks like the old Conan the Barbarian books and 80 fantasy movies cover art.

He's like super ripped
I concur

Is the best depiction because is closer to how he would look in real life to be able to hold a world , this would make his person larger than a planet though

Stuff of the higher realms of existence nonetheless

The small people would say that this was metaphorically but who's to say for sure
Scientifically speaking such things are possible only if we take in account : paralel dimensions , bigger in complete size universes than our own and/or other types of realities where laws of physics are very different

Ah well , our world isn't ready to understand such epicness yet

Actually, Atlas holding the World is the result of incorrect translations of Greek mythology, Atlas held the Heavens or Skies while his feet were set firm on Earth.

Not sure that makes too much sense , the Heavens and the skies aren't something that can fall down

Why is there a weird dragon in the back ? Who is that ?

Dragons represent Chaos and the Unknown to Greeks and Romans, which is why they were put at the edges of maps, when no one knew what existed after those regions.

Is like they are creeping out for him , waiting for him that if he ever lets go of the world and tries to leave he will get eaten by them
Way creepy

Maybe it had a real meaning , maybe outside civilized zones of people there were always beasts to encounter in travels

Interesting anatomy fact:
The first vertebra of the spinal column is also called Atlas, as kind of a tribute to the Titan.

Description

Atlas was the Titan god who bore the sky aloft. He personified the quality of endurance.

Atlas was a leader of the Titanes in their war against Zeus and after their defeat he was condemned to carry the heavens upon his shoulders. According to others he was instead appointed guardian of the pillars which held the earth and sky asunder. Atlas was also the god who instructed mankind in the art of astronomy, a tool which was used by sailors in navigation and farmers in measuring the seasons. These roles were often combined and Atlas becomes the god who turns the heaven on their axis, causing the stars to revolve.
