Polytheism is the belief or worship in multiple deities usually assembled into a pantheon of gods and goddesses, along with their own religions and rituals. Polytheist.
An ancient Mapuche tale says the the sun Antú and the moon Cuyén were once married. But one day when they had a discussion Antú, enraged, slapped Cuyén in her face. Ashamed and in pain Cuyén walked away from Antú and she traveled the skies alone hiding the scars from her face. That's how she would only come out to do her duty when Antú went to sleep, and she would hide when he was awake. After some time Antú's rage faded and he felt regret for what he did to his wife but his pride wouldn't let him approach Cuyén and ask forgiveness. One day Antú fixed his sight in a maiden (human) of unspeakable beauty, he took her to the skies and made her his companion, he named her Collipal (gold star / dawn star). Many years passed and Cuyén decided to reconcile with Antú, but when she went to look for Antú she found him and Copllipal kissing in deep love. Bitterness and sadness took possession of Cuyén and she started crying uncontrollably, it is said that her tears created the lakes and rivers in the south of Chile.
OMG that is so beautiful and amazing . I just love this story . The Mapuche sure are one of a kind , their mythology is so foreign , so interesting and it seems the theme of love was involved a lot .
This is great
You can add as many as 10 at a time if you wish it , is how i done it too
Muchas gracias por esto Pulga :D
Yes they have some cool sotries. The theme of the moon and sun being married is quite frequent apparently in different beliefs. Sorry I tried to issue your comment good karma but ended up missclicking cause I'm on my phone and I downvoted your comment. For now this is all I want to share maybe next time something involving Norse mythology or Symbols as I find those quite interesting.
