I'm not defending Bush, but he didn't **** things up, the Congress did, and they blamed it on Bush, He was a placeholder...
Also he didn't listen to the Congress, he went by his rules (a President is allowed to do that.) Eventually the Congress got ****** so they made rumors etc... which led to the whole public mocking and hating him.
For the Record, he is FAAAAAR BEYOND THE BLINKS OF BETTER THAN THE NAZIS.
