Photography is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving pictures by recording radiation on a medium, such as a photographic film, or an electronic sensor. Light patterns reflected or emitted from objects activate a chemical or electronic sensor during a timed exposure, usually through a photographic lens in a device known as a camera that stores the resulting information chemically or electronically. Photography has many uses for business, science, art and pleasure.
Plain old bee (I think) on a flower somewhere in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne. Shot handheld at 200mm (1/1600 @ f/5.6, ISO 400) with an Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens on a Nikon D90.
Image was sharpened, cropped and re-sampled.
The colors contrasts are just wonderful and so vivid in this shot ! Good timing for this nicely centered subject too ( Bees are such Divas, eh ? They're always up for a photo-op ). ;)
Thanks. Indeed, the bee was on the flower for quite a while. I just wish I had a macro lens to get a "better" shot. I forgot to mention that I used an in-camera saturation boost.
