i hated this part!! since it never happens in the book if i remember correctly...
I'm pretty sure there were Stone Giants in the book, but I don't remember a battle between them.
Your right there were gaints (pg 72-73 in my book mid way of over hill and under hill) but Gandalf was with them unlike the movie.....
