Wait a minute, i honestly don't remember this scene, is it extended edition or something :O?
I haven't seen the Extended Edition(yet), but I've heard that this scene is there, yes. Basically before leaving Rivendell they decide it'd be a good idea to soil their fountains. Very Dwarven thing to do.
