I think that arch is part of a conspiracy to cover up the exsistant of aliens, who landed on that very spot millions of years ago and created a beacon their so that they could come back anytime that wanted. A century or so ago, it was discovered by humans and they found out its real purpose, and so decorated it and disguised it so that it seemed to be an ancient relic or something. The Aliens, not pleased by the desacration of their beacon, dropped a large bomb on it, which we mistake as the Atomic Bomb (which had been tractor beemed up into the Mothership obviously). When the Aliens came back to see the thing still standing, they were ****** of and dropped a large beast into the past, slap bang in the ocean near Japan and the beast was real angry (you would be to, considering he was imprisonned under the ocean by crazy outer-space aliens who were, as previously mentionned, ****** off) and so it banged into the nearest rocks repeatdly, causing massive earth quakes as the Aliens had planned (leading to the massive earthquake and tsunami).
real stone? assuming houses in japan are made with either plaster, wood with steel frames. i know people in japan used to use wood a lot in building...firebombing was probably the reason why they stopped using wood so much...=D
Preferable to the Shinto religion, tori were made out of camphor wood. Very resistant to rot in salt water conditions, though apparently that quality has extended to nuclear blasts and more dynamic salt water conditions.
its made out of honor, and knowledge or the elders and their spirits that dwell within the holy arch Nagasaki!
I have this on my profile for a long time.
(buried)
