There's a picture of a Vietnam veteran in Vader's position and someone added ghosts of dead soldiers where the storm troopers are. It's been posted everywhere to show how heroic they were in that war, and this is a parody of it.
Battlefront 2 actually explains and - to a limited extent - justifies a lot of things the Empire did.
The Rebels wanted chaos where the galaxy was in relative order.
Leia was a poor leader, and the Rebels imo were terrorists.
The Empire was by far not perfect, but most people didn't even know the darker dealings of the upper echelon that came from Palpatine, the Moffs, Vader, Tarkin and the like.
There were some good people such as Thrawn. Veers, Gilad Pellaeon and Admiral Piett .
I can't help to think that the Empire alongside the Chiss helped keep threats such as the Ssi-Ruuk and Vong at bay as well.

I failed to see the humor in this.

As much as I get the image, and it's somewhat clever, I don't find this overly funny. At all. Relates far too much back to the actual war.
Yeah. This is too macabre.
Only in death does duty end....
